Any pistol in any Call of Duty game, other than those weird auto pistols in the new one and maybe the Desert Eagle.
I disagree. I got a lot of use out of pistols in the first game, especially at the beginning.

Edit: specifically the first mission, when the American forces were clearing out some houses before entering the town proper.

the ATLAS Hydra from borderlands....it could have been slightly more useful had the bullets ricocheted off surfaces like T.K.s wave but as it stands it just looks pretty and makes a loud bang...but not combat effective

the gauntlet in quake 3, you can never get close enough.
Guess you weren't very good at Quake XDD
Back when we used to play Q3 at work during the lunchbreasks, we got pretty good at using the gauntlet, it was especially fun to get the arena wide "Humiliation!" when you gibbed someone with it. And i used it when i got more than 5 kills ahead of the other players.

Most impractical weapon... It might have been that bug-gun from half-life one, but the airhammer from the first unreal tournament comes close.

The Lancer from GoW, you'd only be able to partially saw through someone before your entire gun gets mucked up with innards making it impossible to saw or shoot.

the jackhammer on unreal tournament. you can't get close enough to melee. i have killed 2 people with, both bots, both on easy. what's the point
the alt fire for it disables vehicles

Im gonna say most swords from rpg games, so many of them would be just horrible weapons, either too big to cut right or designed in such a way as to be too light for the type of sword they are or made in such a way as to break very easily
Certaily most JRPG's have that problem. Western RPG's tend to suffer less from this (certainly intentionally, the msitakes seem to be more graphics errors, rather than intentionally making them, like alot of modern JRPG's seem to)
western ones have it also, wow is particularly bad about it and thats the one that comes to mind the most for it for me
im pretty sure wow has a weapon that is based off of (if not just looks a lot like) an oversized weapon from an anime.

Nothing beats the Cerebral Bore!

Hang on, this is about impractical weapons...

THE CEREBRAL BORE IS FUCKING AWESOME!!
ok ok...hmmmm...N-bombs from perfect dark.
The n-bomb was useful in some regards. For example, if you had the bouncy grenades, they were going to be spammed. If you set the game to one hit kill, the n-bomb was your only viable defense against random death (and even then it wasn't a good defense).

Magikarp's splash, while not technically a weapon, is the most ridiculous I can currently think of
Does it ever do damage? It always does nothing for me...

Timesplitters 1, dual wielded miniguns.

It's incredibly difficult to lift, let alone fire, a full sized minigun, but two?! At once? And with no movement penalties at all?

I love that game. The only game that's ever made a Blunderbuss an effective weapon.
That is pretty impractical, especially when you consider that you cannot have a portable minigun.

The 10MM piston on fallout 3... it seems to be very bad
I liked it as an early backup weapon, before I managed to aquire more Chinese Assault Rifle ammo than I would ever need. The .32 pistol was pretty useless, and because they were always carried by raiders I always ended up over my carrying capacity - I can never leave a piece of loot behind if I'm still capable of moving...

The banana bombs in Worms. I always somehow manage to kill my own worms with it. Oh, and with Super Sheep, as well.

Or maybe I just suck at the game. XD

Banana bombs were awesome, when I got bored I'd throw them as hard as I could directly upwards. Seeing them rain down all across the map, not knowing where they would land, was hilarious unpredictable fun.
