Ron Pearlman's openings for Fallout games are always pretty cool.
wow, you just ninja'd like the entire thread XD

Hmm... I'm gonna say MGS4's opening line, "War has changed..." I love how it says that and all the Fallout games open with "War never changes"

"Cortana, all I need to know is did we lose them?"
"I think we both know the answer to that."

Also, not quite the FIRST line but it's a pretty damn awesome one:

"In my restless dreams, I see that town... Silent Hill. You promised you'd take me there again some day... but you never did. Well, I'm alone there now, in our special place... waiting for you."

"Who's attacking what the hell is going on?"
"Control, get those planes up fast."
"Roger that, preparing for takeoff."
"I want a damage assessment now!"
"We're restrictive damage from those bombers and clearing out civilian casualties"
"What's going with the bombers, we can't hold out much longer."
"What? The enemy just threw a bomb?"
"Bolter, taking off!"
"Yes, send them up, I want every plane that's ready in the air."
"Garuda 1, you are clear for takeoff."
"Don't get over eager, just do what you always do." [/spoiler]

"In A.D. 2101, war was beginning."

Cue probably one of the most underrated badass shooter themes ever and a slew of the most legendary memes to ever exist.

"What about Shepard?" - Mass Effect :D Man, I want to play through that all again, what a game, I think I've beaten it entirely twice now, so so so good, best game.

"The more things change, the more they stay the same. Boundaries shift, new players step in, but power always finds a place to rest its head. We fought and bled alongside the Russians. We shoulda known they'd hate us for it. History is written by the victor. And here I am, thinking we'd won. But you bring down one enemy and they find someone even worse to replace him. Locations change, the rationale, the objective. Yesterday's enemies are today's recruits. Train them to fight alongside you, and pray they don't eventually decide to hate you for it too." by Com. Shepard

I don't care what you say about the game, that is a damned good opening monologue.
wait, commander shepard?

Saw this coming a mile away. And I totally agree.

Just as memorable is the "I don't want to set the world on fire" bit immediately before. Really sets the tone.
