True, but then again:

Everyone got some semblance of a happy, if not bitter-sweet ending and the world became good again.

I'm mostly glad Pennroyal got a good end of the stick, sure he was a magnificent bastard but you can't help but both love him and pity the fact that he keeps getting himself into such sticky situations.

Nice to meet another fan of Mortal Engines, speaking of Phillip Reeve have you read the larklight books? I haven't but they look pretty good.
