Pretty much this. Describing the Crissaegrim hardly does the weapon justice, so I will instead present video evidence.
Here is a boss fight using conventional weapons. The player is not super-leveled or using anything out of the ordinary for this fight:

all the bosses in the game. Again, the player here is not super-leveled or using any special weapons in these fights
except for the Crissaegrim.
Few games have weapons like this that completely and utterly trivialize
every single encounter. What puts the Crissaegrim in a special class, is that it empowers the player to do the trivializing, instead of something that is passive or scripted (such as a flat stat boost or a summon spell.)
