A lot of games have "that weapon." You know. The one that makes the game practically impossible to lose once you find it?
The Alucard Shield of Castlevania: Symphony of the Night. By itself, ordinary shield. Better defense than the other ones, nothing special.
But power it up with the Shield rod and this normally defensive item turns you into an unstoppable death machine. Enemy projectiles that hit it turn into hearts AND health. Any enemy you touch is dealt a ludicrous amount of damage AND it heals you. All you need to do is literally stand on a boss monster's foot and it will die in seconds.
Galamoth, supposedly hardest boss in the game, down in less than a minute with this thing.
Oh, but it drains your magic. Might be a problem if it didn't regenerate by itself over time.
