Fatal Frame, all three of them. The only games I have ever had to put down because I was too terrified to go on.

Condmened 2, if anyone hasn't played the chase sequences in that game you are missing out on some terrifying shit! I reccomend getting it just for them...
You're talking about the cabin level, right? That was one of the most intense moments of video gaming ever for me...
Sure am! Even now after playing through it 3 times it still makes the hair stand up on the back of my neck when i do that level... the entire sequence is perfect, from the gruesome hints of whats to come with the mutilated bodies around the shack, to the shuffling sound effects above and around you makin you spin around like a crazy person wondering who or what is stalking you...

..and then when the actual chase begins it is just INSANE... the best little touch is the way they wrong foot you with the tiny mirror at the end of the hall... a moment of gaming genius.

okay, i dont know if any of you have played this game, but Clive Barkers Undying was one of the most terrifying games I have ever played, and i love horror games!! the sound effects (and at that time graphics, although its still very playable now) were amazing and really put you into the mood of the game. If you havent played this game, do try it out.

[EDIT] I just remembered another really scary game, The Call of Cthulhu. that was one scary game!

i really didn't find ravenholm scary at all, or any part of hl2 for that matter. but F.E.A.R, well that definitely did it for me
If F.E.A.R. scared you you'll love Condemned 2

The Ravenholm section had me panic-shooting at shadows and grabbing useless objects with the gravity gun. Also, the orphanage in Thief 3 really creeped me out. No enemies to avoid or kill, nothing but whispers and darkness!

The Mummy for sure.
I was such a little twerp back then, the first time i heard those 'mummy sounds' i refused to move further, just standing there, gathering courage to take a few steps. After i got over my fear i blasted them away with my dual revolvers. hehe.

Seriously. What is scary about Bioshock?
The game was fun and deep in the story department, but at no point did I consider it to be even slightly scary.
people say that the first 30 mins or so are scary, but i do agree i was fine with bioshock
