What do you do when you're feeling incredibly low, and you need something to take your mind off it?
Whether it was your girlfriend who broke up, your grandparent who passed, or when a highly anticipated game turned out to be shit, anything you consider a complete downer.
What do you indulge yourself into?

Me, I take showers. Very long and very hot showers. That, or I exercise like a crazy person.
I recently lost my ten year old dogs, that's why I thought of the topic.

Sorry to hear about your dogs.

I do some gaming. Go figure. I should qualify that- I actually VERY rarely actually sit down to play games or watch movies. I'm typically pretty busy writing or painting. I usually have to make the time to play games, if that makes any sense.

wow... that's quite sad. And what a depressing thread. but what the hey.

I find it very helpful to beat on a punching bag. That or lose myself in a book or a game, like kotor or something.

I get a little upset and... Honestly i'm drawing a blank, been a long time since I last mourned... closest thing to it is having a cat die, got a little upset and moved on the next day. Of course i've been a little numb to deaths of beloved felines ever since I had to grab the corpses of dead kittens as they died one by one throughout the day. The last one didn't even have rigormortis...

Sorry about your dog. :[

I also do what you do OP. I take very long and very, very hot showers. If I don't do that then I just listen to some music.

Poor dogs :(

Me, I just get over it.
Although that's rather hard to do when it is your dad passing.

When I'm sad, I usually turn to alcohol. It's a bad habit, and it's caused me to do some stupid shit in the past, but hey, we all have to cope somehow.

OP: sorry about your dog.

Shower, brush my hair, get dressed, eat breakfast, clean teeth, go.

I like to clean my teeth after breakfast, it feels much fresher for the rest of the day. Cleaning your teeth before then eating breakfast is just like 'Okay, my teeth are clean now, let's go fuck them back up again'.

But yea, I'm asleep for most of it anyway.

EDIT: Oh... right, sorry.

Well in that case, play video games and watch House I suppose.

Gotta read the OP next time.

Well actually it was mourning habits, not morning. Nice though x)

EDIT: Saw your edit just now. House is indeed a nice way to pass the time, though I've seen 'em all and now I'm on to watching Lost.

To deal with greif I do one of the following:

1) Sleep waaaaaay more then is normal, reasonable, or healthy
2) Play far more video games than usual (around 100 hours per week, as opposed to 35-40 like normal)
3) Eat too many carbs
4) Disappear for hours on end
5) Listen to sad songs from my favorite artists

Strange, because there is also someone on here who looks just like a certain Crazy Russian I know.

And sorry about your dogs. I hope they were better than my dog is.

I tend not to mourn at all.
And This. I can't mourn. just impossible.

I mourned for everyone I care about years ago. so whenever someone I care for dies, I can't even get a tear now.

I just become very cold and stoic. I would mention quiet, too, but I'm always pretty quiet. I don't find solace in much when truly emotionally hurt by something, so I just go as normal until it's fixed or I move on.

Drink. Continue drinking until I run out of money then not leave the house and play games until some sort of money opportunity throws itself at me without me looking for it then drink that.

Repeat.

I let music help me mourn. I just shut myself away and listen to the kind of music I want to hear, nice and loud mind ;)

I usually start to feel better and my music goes from angry to sad to chilled to happy again...

I take the much simpler path of simply not caring for anyone except myself.
Oh, the list of people I care about is very short now.
Most people I meet don't deserve to be cared about by me.
Heh, I can visualise them getting crushed by that bus... just like that time I saw the...
oh. that.
Small wonder most people I meet aren't worth a damn.
