I throw myself into my research and try not to think about things, I guess. I still deal with the problem, but it allows me to spread it out over a less intense period.

When I get down I do 1 of 3 things

1. Mediatate on the situation and just calm down.
2. Punch the shit outta my punching bag.
3. Go Spar with someone who is willing.

I cry, that usually helps. Aside from that I dont have any techniques, just let time go by, and you come to terms with it. EDIT: I also listen to Joy Division, their music suits the mournful state of mind pretty well :D
