Sorry to hear about your dogs. But I don't mourn at all, not even when my 16 year old cat died with whom I was together from birth. I can't cry, sure I feel like shit, but that's standard, and I'll just continue with my daily routine and let it fly over.

And how I deal with feeling shit in general? Bite through it, if I feel really bad, nothing in my reach can distract me anyway.

well lets say for example someone dies and I'm very down about it, I go through three stages of mourning:

1. Depressed; listen to sad (=shit) music and stay in doors in the dark. I refer to this as 'The Emo Stage' (don't listen to Emo music though because that stuff is woefully bad).

2. Angry; go out get drunk, break stuff while listening to BreakStuff by LimpBiscuit and also listening to Korn and Slipknot. I refer to this as 'The Angry Irishman Stage' (I'm Irish btw).

3. Acceptance; return to normal and listen to my usual tunes and generally get over my loss, but I still keep it in the back of my mind.

I go into "frustrated musician mode" whenever I have something awful happen in my life. Basically it means I get moody and depressed and spend most of my time practicing guitar because when I'm playing I forget about a lot of things, as cheesy and cliche as that sounds.

It's "frustrated musician" because everyone I know who I'm a jerk to during this time just assumes that I'm working on something really difficult musically and tend to leave me alone. I like that.

I just tend to go quiet and spend a while to myself. Either just laying about thinking and doing nothing or listening to some music. Although I try not to let something get me down for too long.

My long-term girlfriend broke up with me a few weeks ago and I moped a bit then went out with my close friends for lunch and a drink to just talk stuff over. Ended up we got smashed in an impromptu 14 hour drinking session laughing and genrally getting my mind of how shit everything was at the time.

I do some gaming. Go figure. I should qualify that- I actually VERY rarely actually sit down to play games or watch movies. I'm typically pretty busy writing or painting. I usually have to make the time to play games, if that makes any sense.
I don't mourn, as Max said before. Seriously, I don't. I just feel sad for a couple of hours. Going on about it is a waste of time, in my opinion.

On why I quoted you, how'd you get that custom thing under your name? Did you send a request to the mods?

I don't really know.
The only occasion I can remember feeling bad about was after my girlfriend broke up with me, and I just sat around a lot, visiting this site and playing games.
Shocker, right?
If I do experience something that requires an actual technique, I'll letcha know.

What do you do when you're feeling incredibly low, and you need something to take your mind off it?
Whether it was your girlfriend who broke up, your grandparent who passed, or when a highly anticipated game turned out to be shit, anything you consider a complete downer.
What do you indulge yourself into?

Me, I take showers. Very long and very hot showers. That, or I exercise like a crazy person.
I recently lost my ten year old dogs, that's why I thought of the topic.
I take very hot showers that literally make my skin bleed.

Depends on the situation, I guess. A lot of times I vent, cry it out or draw. Oh, I make sure I blast music to try to drown out everything. Sometimes I go for a walk or ride my bike and just chill at the park. I cope differently depending on the situation.

But indulge? Definitely music.

If it's really serious, I do the Finnish thing and just take it and not do anything out of the ordinary.
If it's a little thing, I just write and work out like a maniac until it goes away.

I found that sitting outside alone at night looking at the stars while drinking a couple beers helps.Alot.

I surf the internet and try to just distract myself, its all I can do. Hell, it's all anyone can do. That or, of course, I game. Music usually helps too. Trouble is lately, I've been starting to feel myself going downhill so I don't know where I'm going to be soon or whether I'll be able to just distract myself. Fuck that though, this isn't a me thread. I'm sorry about your dogs :/

Aww, poor you. I'm sorry.
On a positive note, you do have awesome hair :)

I usually go quiet and cry for hours, I prefer not to talk about it, it hurts too much.
