I try so hard to make a band but the other guys aren't as enthusiastic to even practice the songs we agree on.
Ditch them and move on.
No point sticking with no-hopers if you've got aspiration... are they stoners by any chance?
We are all 14-16. The are not stoners. And there are no drummers in my school that aren't already taken. And there few of them anyway.
My friend has the same problem. His main band (no relation to the band I mentioned before) needs a drummer. They seem to be in short supply because everyone is sticking to guitar, like me. =P
I'm the bass player because no one else owns a bass. So it's alot harder to practice without feeling alone without a guitar player.

And I don't know anyone outside school. My dad can play guitar really well but he isn't around too much to play and we still don't have a drummer. And I doubt they'll let him in school shows.

Really?
That's funny cos I know about 3 drummers who are bandless right now :|
There was 4 but one guy got a contract with some American metal band and shipped out overseas.

I play the french horn, but the school's advanced concert band is the only band I'm in. Although I've always had dreams of finding some kind of band that a french horn normally wouldn't fit into, and making it work, it'll probably never happen.

Although I play drums and am currently working on a train version of "I'm On A Boat", I am not much for making music. I'm simply not soulful enough to compose anything great.
What do you mean by great?
In my opinion - as long as it's from your own mind, it's unique and that's where the 'soul' of music lies.
Meh great is subjective, you're right, but it just doesn't live up to my standard. I am my own harshest critic after all.

Use the time to get your chops together and build your networks, then once you're out of highschool (or at least older) start looking.

Highschool bands are pretty lame anyways =\

My highchool band makes me cringe when I think about it..

Maybe you should ship one over to Jersey.

Meh I don't really want to go on and be famous (unless I'm really that good) I just want a high school thing so I can have fun and then after I'll just play for fun.

That's a good attitude, play for fun. A lot of musos//artists who end up doing it for a career or a living end up disliking it or losing their passion.

That's something I wrote.
Fuck that's great! You're melting my face off!

What kind of FX pedal do you use? Try tweaking your distortion a little more, make it a bit crunchier//tighter, I wanna hear every single one of those sweeps!
I'm totally jealous *eyes your fingers hungrily*
Actually I wasn't using any kind of fx I was just playing over something I recorded myself, unfortunately it decreased the sound quality considerably. I'm planning on getting some decent recording equipment soon.
Yeah a mate of mine's a bit of a shredder too but he refuses to upgrade to some decent recording equipment. He's basically recording his backing tracks to cassette and playing them back to shred over.

What's your favourite style to play?

Progressive Metal/Shred stuff.

Stuff like :

Protest the Hero
Dream Theater
BTBAM

Nice, same style my mate plays. Even when he's trying to play a slow progressive ballad he literally just can't help himself and ends up turning it into a hardout thrash riff.

While I do enjoy Dream Theatre I can't seem to listen to a whole album without getting over the singer. Something about that guy ruins it for me!

Do you like 'The Haunted' or 'All Shall Perish'?

I've been playing with some friends in a psuedo band that consists of Jam sessions ever week or so, and we've got some things that could be made into songs. We'll probably become a bit more structured now that we have a vocalist...
