MW2: AC-130 or Chopper Gunner

I'd personally say chopper gunner. If the guy operating it is decent at his job he'd shoot someone trying to get it with a stinger, it lasts MUCH longer than an AC-130, and you never have to reload with it. Bullet penetration with it is awesome; so many times whenever I'd get an AC-130 the enemy team would go inside and then I'd never get any kills with it. Add to that the bullets travel instantly (I cant tell you how many kills I've lost with the AC-130 because they run out of the way...), and the Chopper Gunner is just awesome.

AC-130, Danger Close Pro makes it a beast, something the Chopper Gunner doesn't benefit from. Also, it just infuriates me when a noob gets it through Care Package and just fires the 105 like a tool and gets no kills what so ever. Also, the AC-130's ability to kill the foe is directly proportional to your team's ability to flush the little butt-wipes out of buildings so you can rain down hell upon their heads.
For people who are decent with it, the Chopper gunner is assuredly the way to go. For me, I enjoy the AC-130.
The C-130 was a general purpose cargo plane, but that didn't stop the enterprising engineers from installing weapons on it. Hell, the version in Vietnam had nothing more than a huge bank of miniguns - a few seconds of firing and the plane would unload enough ammunition to put one round in every square inch of a football field.Supreme Unleaded said:
That said, you are entirely correct. You get an apache for "chopper gunner" or a hind. Cobra's are gunship support. The PAV-LOW is nothing more than an armored (which is a joke as far as helicopters are concerned - they can shrug of SOME small arms fire but not much) combat search and rescue bird. In all reality, it's direct combat potential is actually less than that of the blackhawk (equal weapons capability, less maneuverability).

However, the AC-130 is just FUN TO USE. Nothing quite like knowing that right then the enemy is hearing "OMFG AC-130 ABOVE OR GET READY TO GET MAN HANDLED!!1!" compared to the monotone "enemy apache coming in." Also, I get this Immense satisfaction shooting those MASSIVE rounds.
So, in retrospect, Chopper gunner- MUCH more useful, more kills.

Personally i prefer carepack/predatormissle/emergency airdrop but that's because i love the crazy luck of potentially getting something out of nothing

Care Package- 4 kills, its a care package, for all you know your gunna get an AC-130/Chopper Gunner out of that.
Sentry Gun- 5 kills, this wapon can get WAY more kills than the predator missile however it only works on objective gametypes.
Emergency Air Drop- 8 Kills, you get 4 care packages, you ccan get some beast stuff with that.
Thats my support setup, works great on larger maps where the E.A.D. can drop easily.
Other than that the simple predator, harrier, AC-130 works great.

They probably should have put on a Black Hawk that was built up like crazy, it would have made more sence. But I do have to give them credit, the MH-53 looks pretty bad ass, its got a mean face to it.
The Hind however makes perfect sence, it was made to be a troop transport fixed with missiles and miniguns as standard.
What i would really like to see is a Sea King in some of these games, its completely overlooked when its one of the best helicopters to date.
The Chopper Gunner is my personal favorite. I score more kills with this than I do with the AC-130, mostly because of the reload and firing time that the AC-130 has. Even cycling through the weapons its almost pointless to use anything but the big gun, and unless you're on a team match getting multiple kills at once with it doesn't happen in Free-For-All (a mode I frequent.)
FYI, the Russian/Milita Chopper Gunner is the Mi-28 Havoc, not the Mi-24 HIND-D. Also the Pavelow is perfect, though they should used the old ACH-47 Guns-A-Go-Go for a true assault helo.
I had my best ever game tonight, 32-2 on Quarry.
I was using the Predator, Harriers and Pave Low.
Stephen Segall must have been piloting them because they destroyed the other team more than any Chopper Gunner I've ever gotten.
I then had my 18 kill streak ended by running underneath my teammate's falling care package.
A bittersweet victory.

My friend got such a lucky set of kills with the AC-130. It was on Wasteland, there were 5 guys all in a clump, running out in the open field.
He took the 105mm, took one shot, and got 5 kills. T'was awesome.
I think we both prefer the Chopper Gunner though. We get more kills on average with it.
