My first shiny!

I've played every generation at least once, and all I've gotten was a Wurmple or something. A Voltorb would be pretty sweet.

Do shinies stay shiny when they evolve?

Yes they do, so if you're lucky enough to get a shiny Charmander for example, you'll have an awesome black Charizard.

wait, so you can get one of your starters as a shiny? holy fuck that would be so lucky..

Me and my horribad luck, i've SEEN one shiny (outside of the ones you normally do) and that was a fucking geodude, and i didn't catch it at the time because i didn't know shiny's were possible at a young age -_-

My first shiny was a Vulpix from Firered which I caught, the next day when I went on the game my save file was corrupt. I have never found a shiny Pokemon since.

All my years playing, I have never seen a shiny Pokemon. Although, to be fair, I didn't even know that you could get 'shiny' pokemon when I was a kid, so I may have seen one and not even noticed.

I did, however, get a Pikachu with 'Surf' from the pokewalker thingy from SoulSilver. That was pretty neat. Think I evolved it into Raichu, I forget.

Was playing Pokemon White about a year ago, just goin' through grass, doing my thing.

Then a shiny Pidove appears, and I nearly crap my pants. I've been playing pokemon since Yellow back in 1999. This was the first shiny I've ever seen outside of the Red Gyarados. Thankfully it was in a weaker area and the pokemon I had at the start of my party knew False Slash. Knocked it down to 1 hp, and caught it.

I was happy the whole week.

Im some what of a pokemon breeder, and have found the right parent combinations to breed a shiny tangela, sandshrew/sandslash, squirtel/warturtel/ blastoise, paris/ parasect, spinarak, zigzagoon, and draiporion.

My first Shiny was in Crystal, Juan the Eevee, who became Juan the pink Vaporeon. Time may have consumed him, but he will live on always.

I caught my first shiny not too long ago. I was grinding away on Mt. Silver, and then I found a shiny Tangela. It was a bright green. I named him Tangy, because he reminded me of a tangy green apple, and its similar to its original name.

Too bad it's only a stupid Tangela, though.

My dream is to get a shiny Umbreon or Ninetails.

My first was a shiny Vileplume in FireRed, I believe... I didn't know what it was (as I had never seen/heard of shiny pokemon), and named it Oddball... I went back and looked at it and felt a small wave of embarrassment...

I also got a shiny eevee first try in HeartGold, and my brother got a shiny Cyndaquil first try in SoulSilver. When he bred the Cyndaquil, he gave me the first egg, and it turned out to be not only female, but shiny as well... somehow...

Other than that, the red Gyarados is the only other shiny I've seen, but I don't really count that, as it's supposed to be there in the game....

In Silver, I had a shiny Furret, that was awesome

In Soul Silver, I had a shiny Raichu and Crobat, all of them are some of my favorite Pokemon.

My friend had like 9 shiny Pokemon for bragging rights.

Did your friend use the (IDK what it was called but...) item to search for Pokemon in the grass in Diamond/Pearl/Platinum?I believe that if you were to build up a big enough "combo" you could max out your chance to find a shiny at ~2%.

Well, his were in Heart Gold but I dunno if he used any item to get his.

He means that Poketch app that isn't coming to my mind now. Or was it the Pokeradar? I dunno, but there's an item that lets you know the chances of finding a shiny or roaming Pokemon in Diamond/Pearl/Platinum.

The first shiny Pokemon I remember catching was an Aron on Ruby. It was the first Aron I ran into on the last file I made as well. I think I've caught two or three others since then. I believe I caught a shiny Wailmer in Ruby and a shiny Venonat in Firered and that's all I remember. If I caught any in Silver I don't remember them and can't check because I let my brother make his own file.

The only shiny I ever had was one of those crab things. The crabs from first gen Pokemon, and it was the generation where they introduced first shinies.

There may have been an Onyx. My memory's a bit fuzzy.

In years and years of playing Pokemon games, the only shiny I've ever encountered was an Oddish. And it fled. That's right I didn't even get to catch it. My luck sucks.

Well besides the Red Gyarados, my first came in Soul Silver a bit after my brother caught his first shiny. He got a shiny Magikarp, I was kinda sad that he got one before me. Well fast forward to tin tower or whatever the fuck it is called. I was going to catch Ho-Oh, and I kept killing him on accident. However on like my 10th try something magical happened, that Ho-Oh was now shiny! I went and showed my brother, then I threw my Masterball at him. That is the story of my first shiny.
I also ran into a shiny Makuhita while playing ruby. I caught that one too.

I am unbelievably jealous that you have a shiny Ninetails. It's still one of my all time favorite Pokemon. And what's with all you guys disappointed in shiny Oddish/Glooms? A shiny Bellossom sounds pretty cool to me.

My first legit shiny was a shiny Zubat in Gold version. Found it in the forest after the town with the Bug Gym.

Never seen another legit shiny besides Red Gyarados and I've played every generation. My dream shiny is a legit, shiny Espeon. I'll never get one though.
