You're forgetting the the character who said "mutilation" works as a police chief in a crime ridden city. Maybe the word was chosen as a character choice as Jax himself might have been disgusted with the notion instead of the script writer showing bias.Wedlock49 said:We are all aware that people look down on it but that shouldn't stop us from trying to excepted as people who live differently, the discrimination bit was used to proove a point. It would be against the law for you too insult someone because they followed islam or were catholic I feel the same should apply to modified people, for some people it's just a fashion accesorie but for others it very much is a way of life and seated in very powerful emotional and spiritual circles.chronobreak said:I think you should chill a little bit there. I'm sure anyone who has "modified" their body willingly is well aware there are a large amount of people who would look at it as mutilation. It isn't like people are trying to offend you by saying it, it's just the way people feel when they see those pictures. And I don't see anyone discriminating, unless you think having an opinion is automatically discrimination without any actions to back it up.Wedlock49 said:then degrading the appearnce would be down to someones perception, but body mutilation is an offensive term in the modified community and like it or not it's a way of life for some people just because we aren't protected by discrimination laws doesn't mean that it's ok to insult us because of life choices we have made.
