I've always been odd that the original Gundam was my favorite in terms of disguise AND series. The others just got a little... silly. Er.CantFaketheFunk said:If we're talking just Gundams, then I agree. But my favorite UC design overall is the Kampfer. For AUs... I like the Turn A, absolutely freakin' LOVE the Freedom (not Strike Freedom, the regular one) and I like the 00, Exia, and Dynames.PedroSteckecilo said:That's probably my favorite Gundam Design from the UC series, though I do have a soft spot for the Victory Gundam and the very oddly designed Turn A Gundam.
And what's so wrong with that? Some people (cough*me*cough) actually like Nickelback... However, OT, this is pretty much awesome, but it's gonna cost a lot, and what if they have the same problems that the last one did? More importantly, being Tokyo, will it have the firepower to take down Godzilla? Always a concern, in Japanese architecture...Griever18 said:That would be like Canada making giant statues of Nickelback.
Better yet, make a realistic cockpit and program in the Gundam Dynasty Warriors game (albeit from a cockpit perspective instead of third person. Put the cockpit on hydralics so if feels like you're actually in a Gundam.Jman1236 said:Because in Japan, Gundam is a big as Star Wars. Also it would be funny if they put a mock cockpit inside and charged people to have there picture taken inside the cockpit. The Gardener said:Why would you want to celebrate Gundam? Honestly...
The first was only called the Wing Gundam, the second one was the Wing Zero.-Zen- said:They should have picked Wing Zero (not the Endless Waltz version, but if I'm right in saying the series had two versions of Wing Zero, I choose the second).
Oh yeah. Thanks. Since that's the case, I maintain my previous suggestion and graciously thank you for clearing that up. Though Gundam Wing was the only Gundam series I immensely enjoyed, it's been quite a while since I've seen it.matrix3509 said:The first was only called the Wing Gundam, the second one was the Wing Zero.-Zen- said:They should have picked Wing Zero (not the Endless Waltz version, but if I'm right in saying the series had two versions of Wing Zero, I choose the second).
I haven't seen much of SEED, but I don't like what I see. Overly pretty-boy characters, Pan and Scan animation, a war named after an EMO Band, too much. Give me the depressing high body count Tomino Series's any day.KSarty said:Personally I wasn't a big fan of SEED, but some of the MS designs really are pretty cool. What makes Cherudim so awesome for me is not so much its appearance, but its abilities. Sniper rifle/SMG, dual pistols/blades, shield bits, and an onboard Haro. Whats not to love?CantFaketheFunk said:I'm sorry, but as awesome as the shield bits are, I can't get over the damn thing's feet.KSarty said:The Jegan, an awesome upgrade for the GM if you ask me. I think there are a ton of awesome looking mobile suits that they could make a statue of, but it makes sense for it to be the original. My favorite UC mobile suits would be either Nu or Sazabi, probably Sazabi because of my slant towards Char, although Kampfer and Gerbera Tetra are sweet too. Favorite non-UC would be either 00-Raiser or Cherudim (shield bits ftw).
I dunno. There's something about the Freedom in HiMAT mode with wings fully spread that is just gorgeous to me. For all SEED had issues (and let us not speak of Strike Freedom), I love the Freedom to DEATH. And I love my MG Freedom
Yeah, I'll never understand why its so hated among the Gundam Hardcore. I consider myself a Hardcore Gundam fan, but it seems as if I'm the only one that enjoyed Gundam Wing. I think its because most hardcore Gundam fans are stupid and they hate Wing because its one of the more different series (along with G Gundam of course). It seems to me that just about every series except a few are entirely focused on making the Orginal Series Lightning strike again.-Zen- said:Oh yeah. Thanks. EDIT:
I just realized something. If they're making a giant statue of a Gundam, it's very possible that they will eventually make a life-size statue of a Super Saiyan made of solid gold. I am eager to see such a display.
Seed's story was actually pretty good. It serves as an pretty interesting foil to the issue of genetic engineering in the real world. Its a shame the series had to have such an asterisk beside it because of those damn annoying main characters. Never have more emo tears been spilled in a Gundam series. Without them, Seed would have gone from Okay, to actually pretty good.PedroSteckecilo said:[

Though yes, the MS designs are pretty good. Chars Counter Attack has my favorite designs in the Gundam'verse though. Though I have a soft spot for G Gundam, because they have the Lumber Gundam in all it's Canadian Might!
I still like Wing, just for completely different reasons than any of the UC Gundam that I like (which is all of it). The problem I have with Wing is usually the hollow idealism in it. 00 has a strong sense of idealism, but it isn't overbearing and it is balanced by the high amount of tactical combat involved in the series. Wing took every chance it could get to throw pacifism in your face, while simultaneously focusing on some fantastic battle sequences. What made Wing's idealism feel so hollow was it often seemed to be the same key phrases re-worded over and over again, you just didn't feel like it was going anywhere.matrix3509 said:Yeah, I'll never understand why its so hated among the Gundam Hardcore. G Gundam is basically all of Japan's love of Gundam mixed with all their rampant xenophilia and xenophobia at once.PedroSteckecilo said:Though yes, the MS designs are pretty good.
