I usually call most of my characters Randoms or some variation thereof. Yes, I am aware of the inherent irony in having something that's always the same be the word 'Random'. If it's something like a racing game in which I know the name won't matter much then it'll be something like RaNDoOoOoOoOM!!!!11!

Aeons ago, when I played Counter-Strike, I went by the handle Nobody. 'Nobody has planted the bomb!' 'Nobody is joining the counter-terrorist team!'

I've decided that whenever I create a character in a fantasy setting I'll name it after medicine. Think about it. Tylenol the mage. But since I hate fantasy I haven't had a chance to put this to the test yet.

Q: "Commander, the Orcish threat is on our very doorstep and the situation looks dire. What shall we do?"

A: "We WILL triumph, but I cannot deal with it unless I have Prozac. I NEED Prozac. Now."

Oh, man. I'm sorry. That was lame.

I use Corum because its the name of my favorite D&D character I ever made. (I can't remember why I named him that though). I use 1134 if i have to use numbers cause it spells "hell" on a calculator.

The only sensible name I've used, which is to say I had a reason for doing so, is my go-to name for any fiction I happen to be writing. And that's Gregory Deer. Gregory, because that's what I'd have been named, if not Jeff. And Deer is my surname reversed.

Or I'll use Geoff Reid.

Or Jeph Rede.

Or... well I can't think of any others. Those three I use a lot in my writing, though.
