Piloting a Giant Robot - awesome.
Piloting a giant Thing that causes the pilot to feel all the damage that it takes as if it was happening to the pilot's own body - horrible.

Also, Shinji's main issue is being scared of relationships... so three hot women, while awesome to the well adjusted soul, is also rather scary to Shinji himself.

Someone else pointed out that Japanese men are socially inhibited about pretty women - this is also true. So much so that it seems to be affecting the population of Japan. Badly.

And seeing the work WETA would've done for the live action version, makes me sad it did'nt come to be.

Well....and Gendo is pretty epic though...
But the thing that always bugged me was the so called "hotness" of Asuka and Rei.

In other news, this anime is not for everyone. Some people will 'get it' and others won't. It's a matter of personal preference really; I'm pretty sure Anno knew what he was getting into before he went there.

Never watched the cartoon but the kid seems to need a nice slap along side the head. In-fact no forget that little bastard, a father should have a son worthy of being proud of. If I was in the fathers shoes I would just have another son one worthy of such spoils.

I think Shinji got "dumped" in the series after the Dummy Plug was completed

Yet......this is a 23 year old that looks like a....disturbing little boyish girl.

Rei and Asuka are 14.
Now, Anime might say ages are nothing but numbers.
Common sense says 14 years = WRONG TO FAP TO.

But then again, in this day and age, common sense might be wibbly wobbly timey wimey...stuff..
I dunno, it always bothered me that there's this sexual theme in NGE, while most characters are around the 14 year area.
Must be old-fashioned, but i think it's wrong.
