NERF Guns/Age limit

So, today me and some friends from class went and bought some NERF guns for a trip and just to have fun with. But when we were choosing a gun, everyone looked at us as if we were mad (literally every person who saw us). We are well over the age of buying toys, but none of us minds it because these things are amazing.

So what's with this "age limit"? To me it seems a bit silly to be deemed too old for these things, but it seems to be a common attitude among people.

Also: Hello escapist! ^^

Yeah, most people seem to think that once your over the maximum age of whatever your buying you shouldn't be able to enjoy it, EVER. Older than 13? NO LEGO FOR YOU!

The hell with those people, they're just made that they're stuck in a boring ass life while you and your friends are going to have fun with some awesome nerf stuff.

Or maybe they were judging you because you got one of the Pistol. Go with the Machine Gun you noob! :p

Age limit on nerf guns? There is no such thing. Nerf guns are fun for all ages. Hell, I'm 36 and I have one. Anyone that scoffs at others for buying nerf guns are jealous because they aren't about to have an imperial assload of fun.

You are never too old to play with toys. And if anyone ever tells you that you're too old to play with toys, throw a wiffle ball at them and run away laughing.

We all went for the same pistol to keep it fair, though I also really liked the machine guns.
They even had shotguns (although not NERF, but similar), which are amazing!

It seems I am yet a NERF-noob

We had nerf gun fights in college all the time. Hell when we were waiting for class to start one would pass around a Nerf N-Strike Maverick REV-6

and play Russian roulette.

Probally not something you'd want to do in grade school with all the shootings and suicides, but in college it was loads of fun. (no pun intended)

There's no age limit for nerf guns...So what if you get looked at funny, you have a gun that you can legally use against those people (well, more legal than an actual gun). It's bullcrap that people in general consider things to have age limits...sure you wouldn't go into your office job and gush about the new comics, legos or, toys you've bought and added to your collection but that's the thing: it's about you and what you want for yourself for your own enjoyment, nobody else...so fuck em.

Just tell them the staff of The Escapist uses Nerf guns in the office, (as does other fun companies) and that you're practice for the corporate experience. That'll go over well.

An adult buying children's toys for their own enjoyment? You SHOULD feel ashamed of yourself.

Now, if you'll excuse me, I'm going back on eBay to bid on more Transformers.

Considering I'll be heading over to McDonalds to buy some My Little Pony toys later today as a 20-year old male, yeah, I feel your pain, heh.

To those people I say fuck you! What's wrong with a little immature fun now and then? My friend and I went to a toy store and bought foam some swords, then spent hours just running around beating the shit out of each other with them. Fun times!

You are never to old for Nerf guns, hell there's a college out there that has a Nerf gun Zombie invasion every year. I think, I know there is one but I can't remember the name or if it is a yearly thing. Point is no, there is no age limit, if people give you weird looks, give them weirder ones.

Since we have Humans VS Zombies games in Pittsburgh that involve nerf guns, I would say the age limit is a joke.

If I had the money and time, I'd join the live-action society on my campus. Nobody is too old for "that kind of stuff." I think it's more naive to judge people or not do something you love simply because you're "too old" for it than it is to just go ahead and do it.

I have a vulcan and it's amazing, the recon is okay and a good adaptable gun I think I also have a marverick and it's like russian roulete witout the consequences :D

OT: Ir's for your age as long you enjoy it if other people disagree good for them (no undeadly Russian roulet for them :D)

Edit: also a guy from IT on my dad's job had a gun mounted on a contollable bipad with witch he could aim and shoot from his PC (how awesome is that)

I was gonna say, the OP must not live in a college town. Where I live, twenty somethings walk the Nerf aisle all the time. Then again, my university has a very active HvZ community, and the school actually allows Nerf to be used in the game (although housing keeps trying to get it banned for no apparent reason.)

I don't think there is an age limit for NERF. I am 18, and own pretty much every new NERF blaster that has come out in the last few years. So if there is an age limit, I am not there yet.
