Although I should know better, I always check out political threads, threads about religion, sexism, or any other topic you need at least the fraction of a working brain and two ounces of information to reasonably talk about. I found out the internet is the wrong place to discuss about this a LONG time ago, but I still click them many times (not as often as before, though, I might be learning step by step with every thread I click on).

My lifespan has probably drastically shortened because of the rage all this ignorance has caused.

Oh yeah, and I tend to refresh the page everytime I want to reply; might not neccessarily be a bad habit though, heh.

Edit: I also always check out why someone has been put on probation or banned. Many happy moments came from that ;)

I usually ditch a thread if it has a wall of text.
See, I don't see that as a broach of netiquette. If you choose not to read a thread, whether it's because the subject matter is of no interest to you or because the OP is a wall of text, that's your business. Now, if you post without reading, that's something else entirely.

I tend to only read first pages unless I'm extremely interested. I think what a load of people do is the whole "correction/grammar nazism". Yes, kiddies pointing out people's bad grammar IS against netiquette. :p (oh and smileys :) )
Sorry, I just could not resist.

Anyway, my bad Netiquette amounts to: being a grammar Nazi and a very bad disagreer.

The biggest and worst habit I have is defend an argument against an IGNORANT troll (ignorant as in "not sure what he is talking about" almost always against racists and anti-religion types that insult everyone without a fact to defend their position... like saying "ALL F/"#ing stinking Mexicans want to CONQUER the U.S. by means of la reconquista") by throwing facts (real or not) at his face, I have won tons of arguments that way... just not here in the escapist... I am much to afraid of the "BAN HAMMER!!!!"

I do it a lot in "you tube" thought

also clicking to read why was someone put on probation is always a win more so when you don't understand why that guy was put on probation which makes you wonder "what where the mods thinking??"

I read a lot more than I share. The Escapist is pretty accepting about personal stuff as forums go (Though I have been on more accepting, believe it or not). I think it's because my username is quite an obvious one to anyone who knows me, and the site doesn't quite have anonymity enough to share

Sorry guys and gals. I do actually respect your openness

I don't usually read peoples reviews, but look at everyone else's posts and base my comment on what they say

Oh and "fix'd" bugs the crap out of me. I hate especially when it's a tiny near un-noticable error. Though when it is a glaring mistake I often appreciate it.
I never pull a "fix'd" unless it's insanely obvious that I'm joking or being sarcastic about what was edited. Even then, I'll only add something new and bold it, I'll never alter someone else's words.

People should be more concise with their threads, not just rambling on and on and forgetting what their arguing about or repeating needlessly. Although I do enjoy reading the articles that are posting in the Escapist Weekly.

This - I often wonder just what was going through the OP's heads when I see a terrible / meaningless thread... that and being on The Escapist too long has turned me into an elitist - I now expect every forum I visit to be very similar to here and turn my nose up at those that are not...

Is it ok when quoting somebody to remove parts that ern't relevant to your desired quoted topic?
Most certainly not - thats disrespectful, rude and obnoxious, why I hope you put on probation for merely thinking such a thought...

I secretly want to punch those people who do those 'quote' pyramids. Seriously.

And I will fight with someone over something stupid for forever. FOREVER.

That's sarcasm right?
If I was being sarcastic I would have displayed my special sarcastic cat - his glare would inform you of my sarcastic tone... there is no cat...

Well you seem to feel quite strongly about the subject, I fguess that's a good guess that I shouldn't try that. Thanks.
Seriously?

I was spouting utter BS about some "sarcastic cat" and you believed me - I know its only text but c'mon" =p.

Oh geez, I was worried for a second!
I actually edited out part of someones quote in my original post directly below yours - its fine as long as you don't change their entire meaning - unless thats what you want to do of course!

Yeah, exactly what you did. It's fine as long as you don't distort the meaning or twist their words. Right?
Thats my opinion on the subject, yes.

I will spend half an hour looking up something somebody said rather than just asking in the forum. Or conversely if somebody else has said something even remotely similar to what I said, I don't post to show agreement.I'm more talkative here but there's a forum I've visited nearly every day since 2002 and I have less than 500 posts as a result. Sometimes I feel like a mooch since I'm reading the forum and not writing anything for others to read.

Oh god you've described me in the heartbeat, as good as the Escapist is it actually makes us just as bad as other internet users as a whole.
Spend a few minutes on 4chan and it'll even out.
