This reminds me of the fact that down the road from my neighborhood, an old man has a mint condition DeLorean just sitting in his driveway. I'm so tempted to make an offer for it...

Woah, this is heavy.

and awesome
"What is it with you people from the future and weight? Is there increased gravity in the future?"

"What?"

"Never mind..."
Goddammit... I wanted to say that.

OT: Hopefully it's better than the other Back to the Future game.

the only thing im worried about is that the current generation of game consoles cannot put out the required 1.2 Gigawatts of power needed to time travel. i guess im going to have to rustle up a Mr. Fusion

you know, there's a REASON that alot of people don't like remakes.

It's coincidentally the same reason that alot of people who "read the book" don't like, or refuse to watch the movie.

Well, I know this won't be sandbox but they can still get it right...

I'm afraid I don't hold out a lot of hope for this. I suppose I hope it's at least as fun as the Crysis mod.

I was kind of happy when I read the article, but now that I think about it, the first two movies would be pretty bland in the video game world. All you'd be doing is running around trying to make your parents meet, then run around trying to get an almanac back. The third might be okay, but even then, you don't get to fire a weapon (in theory) amongst other downfalls.

Hopefully, they'll somewhat rewrite what went on, as blasphemous as that sounds. Leading Biff into the cow and horse shit would be fun though.

Im gonna make like a tree and get outta here. And head straight to my local game shop to look for this on the used wall. 5 hours after release...then probably return it. unless its soo bad its awesome. If the original cast doesn't do the voicework then this is pointless. Unless the perv boy on the train Jewels is an unlockable playable character. sweet.

It has the potential to suck hard, but here is hoping it won't!

And now i'm in a pissy cuz we're nowhere near hoverboards yet, ah well, still got 5 years to go. COME ON SCIENCE! YOU GAVE US SLIDEY DOORS LIKE IN STAR TREK! NOW I WANT MY DAMNED HOVERBOARDS!

Also:

Back to the Future is a very popular retro franchise that has sadly been absent from the modern remake train
Seriously? You ARE joking?
I love that Bttf has remained untarnished by a terrible sequel or remake.

I don't get the excitement over this. I don't see the why we'd want the stories monkeyed with, certainly not in a game (what's been done gamewise is in the past, leave it.) And since when do any of us get excited over a licensed-movie-game? Haven't lifetimes of seriously craptastic flops taught us to stay away from them no matter who makes them?

I'm also a bit confused by Tom Goldman's comments that every human being should see this trio of films (he's certainly right there) but then later laments that Back to the Future has "sadly been absent" from being remade/relaunched. While that can occasionally be a good thing to do to a franchise it more often than not proves to just shit on the original it's trying to hard to "relaunch".

Back to the Future is a great series of movies that should be left as they are instead of potentially given a black eye by a related game franchise.

Guys... I loved Back to the Future as well... but uh... did you play the old NES game, it was terrible. Fact is there is not much to make a game out of here. They need to go really bonkers with it to make it work. Marty didn't shoot people or tear around for half the movie in the Delorian. I don't think these movies translate well to a game. At least ghostbusters could be made into a 3rd person shooter without fealing like a total "pulled from your ass" job. What are you gonna do in this game? Maybe they could make it kinda like Zork, where its more exploration and story progression, and some puzzles involve going to diffrent time periods to solve. I dunno, I wish em luck, theyre gonna need it. No way this is getting a preorder though, then again niether is War for Cybertron and that looks fairly promising, hoping for a demo.

Did you just ask for them to hop on the remake train and bring Back to the Future...back? What is wrong with you? I never want to see Back to the Future remade, they are perfectly fine as they are! Bad Goldman! Bad!

If anything, they could just re-release them in theaters and I'd totally pay to see them.

Shit feels bad, bro.

I'm almost completely sure that we aren't going to see any Marty in this game. In fact we might not even see much DeLorean either. To make a successful game out of BttF they can't do the "kill him so he never does this in the future) kinda thing.

Just an FYI Telltale makes adventure games, for example Sam and Max and that Monkey Island remake.

OT: I suddenly care about this movie deal going on. Guess we shall see how it shapes up.
