Somehow i am hoping (even though the actor's are much older) the move will be staged still around the 80's. I can not see this kind of movie work remade for this time.

o_O how many years has it been since the crappy sequel?
That wasn't crappy!

Hell, it brought us(I think. I only remember that song from the Sequel) God Gave Rock & Roll to You by Kiss!

OT: Hopefully it doesn't suck!
It also had the Grim Reaper getting melvin'd.

I freaking love Bill and Ted's Bogus Journey.

Wasn't "Bill & Ted" basically a big American 80's adaptation of "Doctor Who," only not as good? [/sarcasm]

This could go either way.

But honestly a chance at a good Bill and Ted sequel is awesome.

Bogus journey wasn't the worst movie every in my opinion but was a serious let down of heinous proportions. I've watched the first probably 6+ times but only watched bogus journey twice (watched it again hoping i'd like it more after enough time....I didn't).

I also have been seriously let down by most of Keanu's recent movies. His characters don't seem to have any emotion at all and it just isn't working lately. I'd love to see him actually show emotion as a character again in any movie.

Since B&TEA is one of my all time favorite fun movies I'm stoked there is even a chance at another. I will seriously miss Rufus though and agree replacing him is not a good idea.

Anyway it's a long time till this is going to even start to be filmed so I any speculation is just pointless for now. I'm glad to here the film is in the initial phases of being created though.

I'm siding with BOGUS.

It's not that I don't think they can't work around not having Carlin (the man had, what, 10 minutes total screen time in two movies) but this reeks of bad nostalgic cash in and actor mid life crisis.

I want to preempt this and say that it will most likely be complete shit.

George Carlin has not be dead for a year, and these fuckers are going to rape the corpse.

I...wow. I just realized I don't have those movies. This must be remedied. But, on topic, without Rufus it would just feel... The best I've got is that feeling when a group of friends get together after going their separate ways, but one member isn't there, because he died tragically, or something. Like, everyone can still have lots of fun, but there's gonna be those moments where the sound of a witty joke isn't being heard, even though everyone knows what should have been in that silence, and no one can say anything for a few minutes.

...We Miss you, Carlin. May you forever entertain the worms with your corpse.
I'm sure he's somewhere down there, screaming up at us.

The first B&T movie is still one of my favorites, so this one strikes extremely close to home for me. The cynic in me says that this will be another half-hearted cynical retro cash-in... and he's probably right, but some little part of me that isn't completely burned out from harsh reality is hoping that maybe, just maybe, they'll manage to recapture the fun of the first two movies. I think the world as a whole could stand to have a little more offbeat, somewhat juvenile but well-meaning comedy around.

In the meantime, some most outstanding music:

Most excellent!

I love Bill & Ted; I even liked the sequel. I will be most interested to see how it turns out!

...and remember; be most excellent to each other.

Not sure if i'm looking forward to this or not.

I just don't see how they can make the new film anywhere near as good as the other two.

I mean CGI will be much better, but the actors are getting on , so the language present in the other two films would seem silly coming from two adult men.

Plus without George Carlin as Rufus, it'd just feel as if something is missing.

Why make a sequel? The two films are fine on their own.
Probably the same reason we got more than one Halo. >.>

I can't wait to see it. I hope it doesn't suck. That would be most heinous.
