OK so now I am hoping that the OP comes back and tells us the decision because I really need some closure (and, hopefully, a picture of a kitten).

First rule of pet naming has to be something that you don't feel like a total arse about when you end up at the vets:

me: Hello, I have bought my cat in for a checkup.
receptionist: name?
me: Artemis.
receptionist: ((sigh)) YOUR name..
me: oh....

So you see, accidentally claiming to be Lord Fluffytail McCurlywhiskers of Fancypawsville might be awkward....

represent Jersey and name it The Situation. then every time you lose track of it, you can ask, "where's the situation at?"

or Farnsworth... or Lindsey Lohan if it coughs up hairballs a lot. and don't forget about Poops McGee.

A little out there, but I've always wanted to name a cat Schrodinger.

That, or Fawkes, or Samus.

I called my cat Sploot.

If anyone knows what that name's from I will give you a dollar...
Seriously... I will give you a dollar over paypal if you know where that name's from. (Not Really...)

Just don't name it something generic. Like Dusty or Tigger... the names my sisters cats are cursed to live with.
