They need to fire everyone currently managing DC comics and let Bruce Timm run the show.
Now there's an idea. Maybe we can get better animated shows out of it, too.

Why man.... WHY?!
Just leave watchmen alone people what more could you add to the story anyway?

"Here we see Nite Owl and Silk Spectre in... *Ahem* another sex scene.... please don't fire me."
Oh my god... THANK YOU! All my friends who insist on being fans of Watchmen all looked at me like I was on crack when I pointed-out the sex scene as an example of why I didn't care for the movie. Every single one of them basically said "Are you crazy man, that scene was fucking hot. Did you see the way she rode him? You just must not like sex." And other such bullshit counter-points that failed to counter the fact that it was a needless addition that didn't actually add anything at all. Hell, one of them even tried countering me by claiming that scene was in the comic and I must have just ignored it since I didn't like it as much.

It's amazing how people will throw all sense out the window just because there are tits involved.

Someone better divide by zero or something because the idea of Watchmen dos seems like a major bad idea. Of the few times the idea of sequels are good (Terminator 2 and the 3 sequels to the Metal Gear Solid games, imo) this is not a good idea. The story was complex, well rounded and groundbreaking.

And even if a sequel reared its ugly head, the only way they could make this work is if something groundbreaking happened (and how much more groundbreaking can you get with it, seriously? Package a Supernova with every issue or something?)

Long story short, don't give us Watchmen Babies: V for Vacation. We don't need it.

Worst. Idea. Evah.

Should they make a followup to Citizen Kane as well? or Maus? or V for Vendetta - Where Evie lives in a country where everything's nice and fluffy?

[HEADING=1]NO![/HEADING]

Rule 1: There is no more story to tell.
Rule 2: Adding story destroys the original (See the Star Wars Prequels)
Rule 3: The only way to bring back the story is going with the movie version.
Rule 4: The original story is a closed loop. That's the point. That's what Doctor Manhattan specifically states. That's the damn point of EVERYTHING Doctor Manhattan does. That's why he criticizes humanity for their inability to let go of things.

If DC wants more Watchmen, I'm all for it. Just leave those characters from the original alone and give us something entirely new that just happens to take place in the Watchmen universe. I'm fine with that.

WHY MUST THERE BE MORE WATCHMEN STUFF? Wasn't the graphic novel enough?
Apparantly not for people wanting tons of money...

I just lost all respect for Geoff Johns.
I think I may join Alan Moore and go live in solitude writing for years and growing a crazy beard.

*but never publish any of it so I don't have his problems*

Time to send the Mad Hermit of Northampton off to DC to kick some asses.

(By the way, this kind of transparent trading on his name without his involvement or consent is why Moore refuses to work with DC any more)

Maybe they could do a prequel series, back when the Watchmen were cleaning up the streets while falling under more pressure from Nixon to be government agents or hang up the cape. That could be interesting and DC has got a lot of good writers on its team.

Jim Lee... Isn't he the guy who did a lot of work for Dreamwave on their various Transformers series?

Palm, meet Face. Face, Palm.

Seriously, just leave it alone. Watchmen needs no sequels.

His stories could just be about some of the stuff skipped in 'Watchmen', could be about the adventures of the Minutemen, or anything really.

Be that as it may, it was actually in the comic. It made sense there as it was part of the akward sexual tension between Nite Owl and Silk Specter, hence to earlier scene where Nite Owl fails to get it up, and the fact that the actual sex scene purposely had "Halleljiua" over the top, to add to the clumsy nature of Nite Owl and the cheesiness of the scene, it would've been odd to leave it out because it was part of their character relationship development.
