That's just... bad. No matter how you spin it. We're past things as large as boys-only voting, for fuck's sake, why would we devolve to have a boys only contest?

Ugh... I can't even find a good enough fail or facepalm picture to show my dissapointment on this.
Here you go:

Personally don't care, like anyone wants to win a contest where you get to work... All of you are just, ok this won't come out right, bitchin' you wouldn't know about the contest if it wasn't for this, so you wouldn't have said some bulsh1t about unequal rights.

there are many contest that are women only, you wouldn't want a guy to win a contest where he gets to talk about tampons, not that comics are a single gender thing(just using that as an example).

Probably just a publicity stunt as said above.

Also, I think such a contest is just stupid, women-are-equal-to-men hippie I am.

No women allowed? Meh,they're all going to be to busy making sandwiches for all the contestants anyways so it's not like they're gonna have time. But seriously I have seen a few female only contests before so it's not that big of a deal. And for a male only contest the prizes are sure lame... it should be something like Bear Skinning 101 or Lumberjack Lessons.

what is the big deal? Men got products they can only use like condoms and women can only use like tampons. Unless there is a man out there suing a tampon company for bias and a woman suing a condom company for bias, I really don't see this as a issue.

anyway for all we know peter jackson's wife may have stipulated that rule.

This is not a Human Rights issue, it is a contest. I'm not going to call Age-ism because I'm too old to enter because noone has the right to win a prize in a contest. I also wouldn't try to force my way into a Curves women only gymnasium or a contest for the LifeTime or Oxygen television stations. It is their Human Right to deny an opportunity to be given a gift or to compete for a prize.

At first I was a bit... disgruntled by this contest. But then again, lots of things have unfair restrictions. Like those scholarships only open to minorities(which I'm totally cool with lol), or black and hispanic (the only races that matter, of course) history month. things are always unfairly segrageted. Girls get pink, skirts, and staying at home with the kids, boys get sports, video games, and masturbation. Black people get the coolness, ebonics, and the clothes, while white people get education, credit card eligibility, and liberal guilt.

But it all works out in the end! You know, except for all those other suckers not worth mentioning.

This is good, except everyones gonna start screaming "BAWW Equal Rights!"

Just to clear that up, it's their contest, and they have no obligation to make it multi-gender. I'm sure after all the complaints, they'll cave and give the women some contest of their own. The prize sucks anyways though, it should be something manly, like a week splitting wood or working in a chewing tobacco factory.
Or a drag queen performance. That's something only a man can do.

People simply don't think these things through. It's quite possible that the prize is very man-oriented, just like a "Dream date" with Fabio is women oriented (since I don't think he's gay all jokes aside, and if he is it doesn't work with his image).
I would laugh if the prize is "man-oriented" like a "Dream date" with Perez Hilton.
Two gay jokes for the price of one post, I like it! Seriously though, I'll go out with Perez, as long as he's picking up the bill, and no funny business. And I will not dress as a drag queen, but he can if he wants to.
