Actually I've heard something pretty different on a radio station that I listen to. They said that because of all the whiny little bitches complaining about L4D2 being released very early and Valve skipping out on all the DLC they apparently promised L4D would have, they finally decided to (try to) shut all the fan boys up and make a (PC exclusive) download taking place after no mercy, where your helicopter crashes and the survivors have to find a new vehicle to escape in within thirty minutes.

I especially like how the station pointed out internet user fanboy's self-righteous petition making bullshit. I guess you had to be there to get the full hilarity, though.

* Oh, and they said it was going to be free, so... what the fuck?

So long Xbox 360. Now I just need a new computer and L4D for PC and I'll be better off.

Why does Microsoft have to be such fucking unfair bastards? Good thing they don't own Steam atleast...

Also, suck on that boycotters.

Doesn't the new chapter in Gears 2 cost 1600 points or something like that? Have people complained about that. I'm not really sure... (I need to get that chapter by the way...)

Anyway, I know people are complaining about it costing points, but, seriously, that's kind of your fault. You didn't get it for the PC. There's really no excuse. It's an FPS that can be bought on the PC, and that's really the only way it should be played. You get so much more for doing so anyway (user made maps, mods, etc). Let's face it, Valve likes PC gamers the most. They always have. Also, Left 4 Dead can be played on almost anything, so if anyone has said or is thinking of saying that they didn't get it for the PC for spec reasons, you are WRONG.

Edit: Oh, wait, does Microsoft decide what does and doesn't cost points? If so, I guess people should direct their fury elsewhere (or at least some of it, depending on this all works).

Anyway, I'm looking forward to this. I haven't played L4D in a while, simply because it got repetative. This might give me a few hours of extra playtime, only ranked up 26 hours.
Wow, my friend played for 16 hours, strait, and can recite game dialog off by heart.
Also he dosent even own the game. He comes over to my house.

Anyways OT: This is going to be great! And only september? Almost there, alllllmoooostt theeeeereee!

Valve, Valve, Valve... Looks like we're all a bit greedy on the inside. They were doing so good for so long...

Does anyone know whether or not this DLC campaign will be available for L4D2 as well? I haven't personally bought the original L4D, so I wanted to know what my options are.

im a pc gamer and an xbox gamer i have l4d for xbox and orange box for pc
i would of gotten l4d for the computer but when i tried the demo i couldnt see anything it was all white and i couldnt see anything
i changed all the settings and nothing changed so i just got it for my xbox
i was excited for left 4 dead 2 and didnt care that i would have to pay money for it
but now im kinda pissed because pc gamers get it free when we have to pay
and microsoft points are really annoying cause u can only buy 800($10) and 1600($20) points and theres nothing smaller so u would have to pay more money but if there was like a card u could buy with a code on it or something that u can use and download it that would be way easier than buying more microsoft points cause if u had 800 and u bought it u would only have 240 left and everything is atleast 400 points so u just have extra points that u cant use
and plus the pc game is $50(or like $5 if u bought the valve complete pack) and the xbox game is $60 and the pc version has user created maps and mods so we are paying so much more for less which is unfair and it really sucks for me because my computer is crappy and cant play l4d

And this is why us PC gamers whine whenever we see a price tag slapped on pc DLC. Console gamers often say "Why are you whining? We get charged for DLC all the time!" We whine because we realize that if we let the companies think we'll put up with it and still buy the DLC, soon all DLC will cost money.

And honestly, all the people who are saying "I think PC gamers should pay too because it's unfair, and my PC can't run L4D." First of all, you should be complaining that anyone has to pay, not that some people don't. Second of all, a good gaming pc is a bit more expensive than a console, and one of the advantages that we're paying for is that 99% of PC DLC is free. I still think it's a pity you guys have to pay though.

OT: A new campaign? Nice.
