Sweet, a map designed around versus mode. Good thing that, since I only play that.

What does the "recharge timer" mean, though?

I don't see Bethesda announcing Fallout 4 before any of its new DLC
Fallout: New Vegas was announced long before Point Lookout and Mothership Zeta.

The only problem i have with this is that xbox players (like me) might just skip this DLC because of the price and wait for L4D2 to come out.But Valve is awesome for giving away any content for free in the first place.Thank you valve

So basically what I'm getting is that the L4D Boycotters (who at this point should be renamed the L4D Griefers and Mass Invite Spammers) are once again hilariously wrong and probably scrambling for even more irrational justifications that they were somehow right or actually making a difference. Yeah good luck with that, 1% of all L4D sales.

Also I too am glad I have this for PC. It does suck that the 360 users have to spend about $6 on another map but that's Microsoft's problem.

Course if this was apple, you'd have to pay roughly $200 :p

that 560 price tag is taking the piss, I mean I would pay a token amount but the way microsoft hav set up the point system is just a money grabbing joke, what the hell we going to do with the spare 40 points knocking around? was charging 400pts too much to ask?

Just when I start to think that Valve loves its gamers again, I read FREE on the PC, but 560 Microsoft Points on the 360... WTF? Why would you do that? You're obviously showing your preference in customers. I know some of you are going to say: "It was Microsoft who made them charge for the DLC!" I'm going to say BULLSHIT to that because there is a countless number of free DLC for many popular games. Aside from that, even if Microsoft DID make Valve charge money for the Xbox DLC Valve should've turned their asses down. This would show the fanbase that they're most definitely commited to bringing them an amazing experience with their game.

This is total bull. No one is going to download this when the brand new one is coming out a week later. They should have done this about 3 months ago.

I'm no L4D2 boycotter but this campaign seems like Valve tries to just shut everyone up and quickly rebuild their image. Reading the posts here, it works for most people.
Not even talking about the price for the 360 version (Why? Wasn't that other DLC free, too?), but they say you can play a versus round on this campaign in 30 minutes. Sounds nice at first, since versus matches usually take up roughly 2-3 times the time. But in a game of versus, you play every map in this campaign twice and it still only takes half an hour?

Oh well, I appreciate their work and will probably enjoy it, too. Looking forward to the sequel, too.

How does this answer the calls of the L4D2 boycott crowd?. If anything it makes, some of, their points more valid.

Surely adding more content to L4D, so close to the sequel's intended release, shows how pointless L4D2 is when Valve could still be adding to the original. Doesn't this reinforce the claim that L4D2 would split the community, as people will have a new incentive to play the first game?

If you believe this a response to the boycott group, and its hard to see it otherwise, then it really reinforces the question as to why there weren't more campaigns added to the original via DLC before now. If a new campaign has been produced in a relatively short period of time, while they're working on L4D2 as well, then surely they could have produced another three or four by now if they hadn't been intent on making the sequel instead.

While I appreciate this, and will definitely download the content, it makes me want L4D2 less as it makes it seem more likely that there could well be more stuff on the way. Why bother with the sequel when there's still life in the original?

560 Microsoft points! Thats a bit of an odd number.. luckily ive got 560 points i cant spend anything worthwhile on.

But the free for Pc has decided it for more. As much as i dislike PC FPS's LFD2 will be on the PC for me.

whoops, touche. shouldn't have used F3 as a reference, since its developed by Obsidian Entertainment instead of Bethesda, but using the Fallout 3 engine. I still think thats not a good practice, but now that the DLC's been announced, i'm pretty content with the whole situation now.
