What exactly is the difference between a PC and a console then, when we reached the point where console-develpoers present stuff to turn their product into a Pc?

If only ps3 could just have more support for plain old USB mouse and USB keyboard... a handful of PS3 games support it, which proves it DOES work, only it is used so little.

Sony would be a bloody legend if they retroactively patched in fully customisable mouse+Keyboard controls for all their first party games.

Actually... looks cool to me. There's a fair few games right now that simply can't port out to home consoles because they're better fit for a keyboard & mouse. If consoles can properly co-opt that, considering they already have some tasty hardware under the hood-

Is this... the first step towards making a console port of WoW? Good gravy, if Blizzard went after the console market as well, they could damn well conquer the gaming world. And besides, with the announcement about Valve coming over the PS3, the damn thing's already got most of the formerly-PC-based advantages going for it.

Umm there's already many keyboards for the PS3, and they all look FAR better than that. There's the one that attaches onto the controller, there are bluetooth ones with touchpads designed to work with the PS3, and most USB keyboards work fine.

I'd rather just keep my G11, thanks.
I just plug in my G11 to my PS3 and use that if I need to type.
I get a mouse doing that as well, as my MX518 is connected to my keyboard's USB slot.
It's pretty handy.

Besides, that thing is fugly.

It looks like something from the 80s... And I don't know about you, but I have had all my consoles in the living room. The coffee table isn't too convenient for a keyboard.

Glad to know I'm not the only who think's this keyboard looks like a clunker from the 80's. Good lord it's just plain ugly...

Why would you even bother with that clunky 1980s-era... "thing"? If you want a keyboard (and optionally a mouse, although that kinda ruins the point of the PS3's controller) for your PS3, why not just get:

1. Sony's actual keyboard attachment for the PS3 controller [http://gizmodo.com/5039435/playstation-3-keypad-to-bring-thumb-typing-to-ps3]?, or
2. A Logitech DiNovo Mini [http://www.logitech.com/en-us/keyboards/keyboard/devices/3848] (which includes a trackpad mouse)?

Surely either one functions comparably, and at the very least looks much better than that "office cream" contraption.

You can run smoothly 90% of MMOs on any PC bought within the last 3 years. And you can run 75% of MMOs on laptops bought within the last 3 years.
