The ice looks a cool touch (sorry about the pun).
Some of the new ideas look interesting, but I'll have to wait and see if they actually work or just mess things up.
If you can't fight the monsters, then I will be definatly avoiding this one. When it comes to a game, be able to fight but making most fights so utterly hopeless it's not worth trying makes a game scary, but not being able to fight at all just means I lose any sympathy/conection with the protagonist and hate the game in general.

I'm looking forward to it; it's been a while since a true survival horror game has been released.

If you're interested in this then maybe you'll be interested in the calling [http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xuYLoZD9qhY] as well.

Huh, well, that's interesting. Dahlia's design makes me a little curious but--don't judge a game by it's trailer--for better or worse. It may end up being fun.

i think silent hill is scarier, but resident has more action and is in all a better series.

Personally - I dont think any of the games have been a touch on Silent Hill 2! I think that now they are just milking the franchise, just like microsoft are doing with Halo! (By the way im a big Halo fan so i dont want any fanboys sending me hate mail for this)

Uh, dude, why are you talking to yourself? But, anyway. The only SH game I've played is 2, but this one looks okay. I'll check it out.

And who cares what Dahlia looks like? That doesn't ruin anything or change the gameplay or storyline.
That's true. It's just EVERYTHING ELSE RUINS IT! The whole concept of making a remake is ridiculous. Especially one that reeks of mediocre, trashy, low-level Hollywood remake-ness.

I mean, for Pete's sake, Konami would never let out any of its other big franchises like Castlevania or Metal Gear Solid to Western devs to do what they like with, would they? So why is it they're so inclined to let the SH franchise be crapped all over?

Not a remake, a reimagining. There's a difference.
No there isn't. They just brand it a 'reimagining' as an excuse to completely deviate from the original product and hope not to get so scorned for it.

FINALLY a reminder of why I bought the wii in the first place!

I saw the trailer and it looks like they're taking it back to it's psychological roots like they did until SH 5 or Homecoming if you can't bare to tie it to the franchise.

SH 4 was the biggest let down, it just went straight down from there after a very good series.

I have doubts about this one. They really screwed the soundtrack on this one and the storyline is confusing, you can't tell if it is a remake or a reimaging but the gameplay looks ok
