Damnit! I was a fan of Donald Glover since he did little comedy sketches on their website, derrickcomedy.com.

Maybe he would be a good spiderman, and maybe he wouldn't. I just wish he would :C

Ah well, maybe he'll be another superhero. SHIT! Maybe he could be Robin!

He was in BAD episodes of Doctor Who.
Really really bad. Of course it was bad because of script/premise problems not acting ones.

OT: I never really liked Toby Macguire, he always looked as though he was expecting to be punched. Spiderman 3 sealed my dislike of him in a nice little can. I hope the reboots good, although I don't see the first one being a lot different from the other first one.

I still don't understand why a rejected script means they have to reboot. There's nothing wrong with just writing a new script. That's like reformatting your hard drive because Internet Explorer crashed once.

As long as it isn't an origin story reboot, the first movie isn't old enough that we need half of this movie to recap how spider-man gets his powers, if it's just a short flash-back I won't mind.

So... a reboot would mean they're going to tie this one into the current movie universe like the other Marvel movies, right? Right?

Because that would be awesome.

Still, topping the first two Spider-Man movies is going to be tough. I'd love to see it happen, but I don't think it will.
No. They're doing Ultimate Spiderman.

What, a reboot? already? Hollywood must REALLY be out of ideas for movies.

Awwww... I would have liked to have seen Donald Glover as Parker... Aw well.
I like seeing unknowns in film roles.
It always give the movie such a nice... Fresh feeling to it... Even if it's well trodden ground (See Superman returns)

Spider-man and the X-men or even Fantastic Four will never be part of the Marvel movie universe unless the studios let their rights expire which they never will so they'll keep on putting out sequels and reboots

Constantin films made a Fantastic Four movie for about 2 million dollars in 1994 that they never intended to release just so they could hang on to the rights and it's pretty awful, you can find it on youtube

Yeah, but topping the third one really, really won't.
We do not talk about the third one. Ever.

I won't pass judgement on new Spidey until I see the movie.

Meh, I don't know. When I saw that screenshot, I thought it was for Superhero Movie 2 or some shit like that. He looks a bit too Sean William Scott-y to be Peter Parker. Maybe good enough to be Spider-Man, but not Peter Parker. Which is odd because Tobey made a perfect Peter Parker, but not the best "Spider-Man" (If you get what I'm saying), especially when he started getting into emo mode.

This just made me cry out "awwww... do we have to?" in that little singsong voice we all used at least once when we were children. I don't have anything against Andrew Garfield (in fact, I'd even go so far as to admit that he's pretty cute), but enough is enough. They gave us 3 Spider-Man movies not so long ago, and there are so many other super heroes that they could choose from...
My problem isn't that, but that they're rebooting it. I mean, they could've just scrapped the third movie all together and forget about it, and make Spidey 4 take off from 2. But oh well, I guess Tobey is a bit old now to be playing Spiderman, and thats a shame because I really will miss him.

I doubt this will receive the hype or love the originals did. I'm happy to have been an avid movie goer during the period that both Spidey films were so awesome and loved by everyone. I think the Superhero thing hasn't necessarily passed, but the height of it all has somewhat waned.

Something terrible is going to happen with this, I just know it.

Something.. terrible.

..And yes, McGuire was placed on my "You are shit" list after that emo dance stunt scene in Spiderman 3. I will never forgive that!

They say, "He was in Doctor Who!" and my spirits soar! I see which ones on IMDB and now am depressed.

Those two episodes he was in? They were the WORST episodes of Doctor Who in the ENTIRE REBOOT SO FAR. crap

STOP! DON'T REBOOT SPIDERMAN! Yes the 3rd flopped a bit, but that was because too many people were making too many demands! Raimi was doing great! Toby was doing great! Why, Sony, do you do such stupid things!?

Seriously, I can't stand the fact that they actually think rebooting the series like this is a good idea. We're getting a British guy to play a New Yorker. While I'm not trying to come off as racist or anything, that doesn't make a lot of sense. I also don't like the idea of starting the series over when we already had something established that WORKED!!!
