QQ, it's nothing compared to the smear campaign Sony's had to deal with. Funny this is the first time anyone raises an eyebrow.
Seriously?

Dude, call me when there's a news program talking about the dangerous sexual uses of PS Move and it'll be newsworthy. If there's a "smear campaign" against Sony, I've certainly never seen it.

Oh Fox News, will you ever accept that your not taken as a serious news network?
they might once it becomes true. The problem, in the meanwhile, is the fact that the wrong people (or the right people, from their perspective) do take it as a serious news network.

Does anyone watch what the fuck their kids play!? I mean this is fucking ridiculous. If a parent doesn't watch their kid enough to see that he's virtually feeling someone up, they should not have had a kid to begin with.

I'm not saying that Fox News is a good station, but I find it funny how many posts are about Fox News when the story is more affiliated with CNN.

Faux Noise is not news. It's a network of liars, racists and fear-mongers that caters to negative IQ people, who watch it because it strokes their egos. Anyone who watches it deserves to be lied to.
So, you love overgeneralizing people you don't like?
Have you ever watched Faux Noise? Have you ever compared the stories to stories about the same thing run by other media companies? We're talking about the company that takes satirical stories from the Onion and runs them, claiming that they're totally true (and most of the time not even mentioning that they took it from another site.) That's just one example.

No, I don't enjoy "over-generalizing" people I don't like. I just tell the truth. I'm sorry I may have hurt your feelings, but...It's proven fact that people who watch Faux Noise are consistently lied to. There was a study on this very website a couple days ago.
Internet slap fights are fun. Okay but seriously, it would really help your argument for the fact that you may be a level-headed and fair person if you stopped calling them "Faux Noise". It's just stupid, like calling Microsoft M$ and feeling like you're stickin' it to the Man. I don't like them that much either (although O'Reilly and Beck have given me quite a few laughs), but most American news outlets are extremely one-sided. FOX just does a bad job of hiding the crazy. They do run shit stories (the Mass Effect one is a good start) but, again, so does every other news outlet. It's just that this outlet is likely the most viewed in America. It is an over-generalization to say that it's a network of racists or to say that their viewers have low-IQs. You can quit riding the "FOX News Sucks" bandwagon any time you want.

Oh right, like the BBC's piece on the YLOD, which included a segment on 'Dangerous Gasses' inside the PS3, not ever taking the time to identify what 'gasses' these supposedly were. Or where they were going, given it's monstrous fan? Or, in the same piece, how they setup a PS3 maintenance van, to fix said YLOD issue (to prove that $150 was too much), only to find that more than 70% of those involved, still had busted PS3's afterwards? I guess things like that, didn't register because it didn't involve sex?

Or how about the fact the fact that MS has never reported the actual number of Xbox's that failed? Which would most certainly stomp a mudhole in it's 'lead' over the PS3, right? Or how about Kotaku's piece on 'Painfully long loading times in GT5', based upon a bogus video clip that was either slowed down, or was simply glitched, and showed at half speed? The Fox News piece is typical of the network, the only thing wrong with it, is people still watch Fox News. That's their problem, not mine.
I'm not seeing a smear campaign there, those are two separate and unrelated pieces - as is MS not reporting the actual number of RROD Xboxes.

We write what people send in. If nobody sends in a tip about the BBC YLOD article, we probably won't write about it. This is interesting and timely and sadly all too emblematic of how mainstream journalism treats our industry.

You're getting worked up over nothing.

For what exactly? There aren't any outright lies written in the article. It was just hyperbole, fearmongering, a stupid quote, whargarrbl, excessive derping, and speculation.

Now a game they thought was for children will need constant supervision.
Just what we needed. More games that need supervision. Tamagachi was bad enough, then all those stupid whateverville games, now this. I don't have enough time to supervise all these damn games.

"You see the commercials on the Disney channel on [sic] Nickelodeon of course they're going to want them."
You saw commercials for Thrixxx thing on the Disney Channel? Really? I've gotta see this.

Once again, parents don't actually realize what the actual "game" is.

Kinect is not a game. To be fair, this is one of the more confusing ones, but it's more of an add-on to the Xbox 360 console. Which is also not a game.

Thrixxx is the "game" in this situation. I kind of doubt it was advertised on Nickelodeon though. If it was, I'd be more pissed at Viacom than Microsoft.

Strangely enough, I recollect seeing something about CNN doing quite poorly as of late. Honestly, though, I cannot claim to have faith in any of our U.S. news media outlets. Wait a minute! Time Warner owns CNN and Time Warner owns Cartoon Network!!! So I bet that the Cartoon Network is brainwashing eager children into buying Kinect so that they can access the PC sex hack, allowing a CNN subsidary to capitalize on the scandalous outbreak of small children fondling the air!!!

Erm, waitaminute... Nope, sorry, that's just plain silly. About as silly as a parent being concerned over a PC sex hack that their child will have no exposure to except from looking it up themselves. Which begs the question: What were these parents Googling in the first place to find a Kinect sex game?!? :p

Might as well just witch-hunt the internet; heaven forbid little Timmy gets a' Googlin' with the PC his parents supplied him with in the first place.

And this, ladies and gents, is exactly why Microsoft wants to stop people from making this kind of crap for Kinect if they can, even if it doesn't hit the 360. They didn't even do anything wrong and now they are going to get blasted by this bullshit from a news outlet that can't do any simple fact checking.

Because no one in their right mind takes Fox seriously and those who do think the "electoral process" is what happens when someone gets the chair. IOW, people who follow and create this sort of media shitstorm are like that little brat of a kid on the bus who is screaming their head off with half their fist shoved up their nose. Irritating, disturbing, but ultimately a mere nuisance which will hopefully be avoided in the future with properly functioning prophylactics.

I find it more amusing that almost everyone in thread bashed on Fox only to find out it's CNN.
Because it's totally unbelievable that another network might adopt the "Shoot first, broadcast second, think eventually" practice that Fox is notorious for, a tactic that has served them well so far seeing as how their questionable broadcasting has actually remained on air.

And of course, having an edit to the OP three pages in is a total oversight to boot. You're right though; Ha ha, we all expected to get another firefight over whether or not our opinions of Fox network content being the bottom of the barrel are justified only to find out that CNN might be slipping in to join them.

Now weep for the failing health of journalism, pay your membership dues and remember, if it doesn't sell it's not news.
