Personally, the first thing that came to my mind when I saw this was a Grim from Resistance 2:

I'm surprised no one else has mentioned this. The Chimera have obviously begun a covert invasion of Earth.

EDIT: The one difference between the two is the shopped image doesn't have 6 or so eyes.

Hm...The head's too small to be a bloodsucker, and it doesn't have tentacles to boot. It's sure as hell not a chimera or pseudodog...Smart money's on some kind of displaced Snork. Two shells to the temple oughta solve the problem; I'd recommend bringing an eye or firefly before taking it on, though.

I could watch horror movies for a living, but even when it was proven fake, it scares the s**t out of me. It's kinda fun though.

I think it's fake because cameras don't take pictures by themselves, unless this was a ghost that was taking pictures of itself intentionally. What an attention whore.

Its called a game camera. Its basically a digital camera in a durable camouflaged case that you strap to a tree or something solid. The camera has a built in motion sensor and everytime something walks in front of it, it takes a picture using either IR or nightvision (the old ones used a flash but that would scare the animals away). A lot of hunters and researchers use them to see what kind of wildlife is roaming their land. Here is a website that has nothing but photos from game/trail cameras.
