I was kinda hoping that this was some viral marketing for a new L4D2 camping where they go back to the swamp for no reason apparent, but after reading CaptainCrunch and StoryMode's post those hopes faded. It's still a cool image though, rather convincing I feel. The news story, however, meh.

Likely options:

- Viral marketing campaign

- just a guy who wants attention

- the person didn't realise it's fake.

Now, being the wannabe cryptozoologist I am, assuming it's not fake:

- Dover demon. It's not in the right area, and has a few wrong features, but what ever.

- Chupacabra. I doubt it, but since apperances of the damn thing range from reptilian kangaroos to 7 foot tall winged bigfoot, This seems more in line with the orginal sightings anyways.

- Other unidentified humanoid.

Looks like someone shrunk someone's head in Photoshop and sent it out to news stations in order to get some laughs. I'm calling bull.

What the holy...

Tell the CIA, alert the president, Call the Doctor, alert Mulder and Scully, just get that thing off the face of the Earth!!!!

...but seriously, that's fake as hell. The odds of ghouls walking the Earth are about the same odds I have of playing the lottery. It baffles me why local news stations don't research their stories before reporting them.

The most likely reason is that it's photoshopped. Still, that's a freaking creepy picture. No eyes, just white light. Ugh.
Yeah. To sound like the 'ubernerd' I am, it looks like a worse version of the Rakghouls.

Probably fake.

If it isn't...Well, there has to be an explanation.

Maybe it was just some drunk homeless man...with glowing eyes...

What I want to know is , how did the camera take the pictures if there was no one there to take them???? Or did someone take the picture? This headline has few details....

I think it's fake because cameras don't take pictures by themselves, unless this was a ghost that was taking pictures of itself intentionally. What an attention whore.
Its called a game camera. Its basically a digital camera in a durable camouflaged case that you strap to a tree or something solid. The camera has a built in motion sensor and everytime something walks in front of it, it takes a picture using either IR or nightvision (the old ones used a flash but that would scare the animals away). A lot of hunters and researchers use them to see what kind of wildlife is roaming their land. Here is a website that has nothing but photos from game/trail cameras.

And HOW would a cellphone take a picture like that if there wasn't anyone there to take a picture? Did another mutant want the first one to do a photo shoot?
A lot of camps have tree mounted cameras that take a picture when they detect movement so the hunters know what size deer are in the area.
But honestly, although this is most likely faked it makes me happy I'm not going to my grandpas hunting camp in the deep woods of michigan this winter.
Thanks for telling me that, I don't know a lot about how american hunters operate.

(sorry, I couldn't help it)
Fun Fact: Incest is Illegal in Louisiana, but perfectly legal in New York.

OT: I think it's photoshopped. However if I saw anything resembling that while camping I'd shit my self then die.

I'm not sure, already, a bacteria has challenged the fundamentals of evolution by giving a big "Fuck you!" to phosphorus. And it IS 2010, so evolution might have come trodden again.

yeah....

Any time I see "the person wanted to remain anonymous" or "This is totally real" Its not. I mean, you might as well have put the Slender Man and it might be more believable.

But it looks like the Undead from LoZ for one of those generic zombie things you see in games.

Or the Ghoul, From Persona 3 Fes:

The... thing, we'll just call it: http://cdn.themis-media.com/media/global/images/library/deriv/34/34363.jpg

Ghoul (P3F): http://images4.wikia.nocookie.net/__cb20090313022505/persona4/images/6/60/Ghoul.jpg

Either way, I'm going to call false on this.

The picture this thread is about doesn't look that scary but this:

Come on guys, really? This is stupid. This is where he stole it from.

Unless, that's the "real" image and the news just cropped it poorly, as well as what they were showing everyone. I think it looks silly.

-edit-

Eh! I don't know anymore. People are always out to fool others. I'm skeptical.
I clicked on the link saw the creature screamed and closed the page immediatly, I didn't even look at the rest of it, but anyway not photoshopped just staged.

Down Ellis.

But yeah, that looks like something from Left 4 Dead or some upcoming House of the Dead game coming out.

I hope it's real, that's for sure. It's about time one of those freaky occurrences turn out to be real and that we've suddenly discovered something unknown and completely insane.

Apparently that wasn't really the case, or so I've heard.
