The kid died, and that's sad, but this has nothing to do with a game. He tried to do a parachute jump, and, as far as I'm aware, no wrestlers utilize parachutes in the ring! the fact that the child in question liked the game is coincidental. For example: I like CoD 4, and if I get killed after walking in front of a car, going by the logic in this report, It must have meant that I died while imitating CoD 4.
Sorry if I come off condesending, but I'm annoyed by the fact that the media seems to have just assumed that games are to blame.

correct me if im wrong, seeing as i do not own any wrestling games... but im pretty sure that people do NOT jump off buildings with parachutes and land on their opponents...

this is going to sound terribly cold... but im willing to bet that the 'best friend' suggested it and then when he realised what he had done blamed it on the game, seeing that blaming something on a game will definitely take the fall even if it is not to blame, simply because everyone is just looking for an excuse to ban video games..

the best friend stated :

"He tried to do a swan dive like Jeff Harding (sic) does in SmackDown. That was his favorite game. He played it all the time," Murrel said. "That was what he was trying to do. If I would have seen him up there, I would have told him not to do it."

how the hell does a swan dive have anything to do with a parachute! and how does he know that was the move he was trying to do if he did not see him jump off! he seems to know a god damn lot about exactly what was going through the jumper's head for someone who wasn't there!
fucking aye! u got a solid point there old mate. seriously.

Wait, I know its wrong to insult a dead person, but how on earth could ANYONE think jumping off a 13 story building is in any way safe...

As stated in the article, the child should never have owned the game in the first place too.
and with a paper bag and string? fail

I don't see how anyone could blame the sister for all of this. I mean, she's just a kid as well. She shouldn't have to look after her brother in the first place.

his parents shouldnt have got him that game in the first place.

oh and by the way, good job kid for sparing another false outrage against video games.

although it doesnt seem like he was imitating the game if he was wearing what might have been his attempt at a parachute. i think that someone is trying to get rich off a lawsuit.

i think that those 'pro' wrestling things are stupid, anyway. whoever wants to control or imitate a guy who is wearing a speedo trying to grope another man also in a speedo has some issues.

Of course, because we all know that everyone tries to throw the blame on something else so that they either are able to get on the news about it, or to try to find some kind of way to get money from WWE. Surely that without a plastic bag parachute, when you are looking off that edge, you might think, "Thats a far way down... And I might die.", But no, the kid jumped. I am not going to even offer condolences to the child or the parents, if they raised him right, or maybe barred off the video game, he might be able to do something else retarded from a kids rated game. I cant think of anything specific, but he can surely find something.

By the way, the Wrestler is called, "Jeff Hardy", not Harding.

Games are not to blame. It's the parents's faults to let their stupid, fool able children play games that'll give them strange ideas. Let them play these games when they can think logically properly. Although, it will always depend on the kid himself. You'll never know when they'll realize that jumping from the roof is a bad idea. I realized it when I was around 7 or so, I'd guess, but you can never be sure. Then again, don't give the kid a chance to get out in the first place! But my point is, I'm sick of people blaming games. There are people who've played every immoral, violent and non logical game, and hasn't done anything stupid that has anything to do with the game. Video games don't cause death, stupidity does.

Don't buy games like that for kids. Seriously, what kind of person does that to their children?

This is ridiculous. A boy jumping and it's blamed on a video game? What next? A boy runs and stubs his toe thanks to copying all that crazy dangerous running in FIFA games?

Well I did always enjoy going on the roof but knew the jumping off was a baaaaaad idea.

Course that's also why my parents installed child locks to stop the windows opening far enough for me to get out ¬_¬

Ok, I know it is bad to mock a dead man, especially a dead child, but seriously dude, WHAT THE FUCK was going through your head? Come to think of it, I tried to make my own parachute once, but before jumping off the third floor, I tested it by jumping off the bed. Needless to say my plan failed and I ended up landing on my ass. So I scraped the idea and went to play with my Sega Genesis. Anyways, rest in peace kid.

oh dear, parents going to complain again. -_-; But it does raise questions:

1: why the roof? You can't jump off the roff in the game, you don't even get to fight on a roof.

2: what the hell is the kid doing with a copy of the game?
