Idk, I don't know if its just been me, but I always thought the legend of zelda had a more medieval look and this seems more. I know they are trying to do the like elf hood thing, but it honestly looks like shes wearing a hoodie with sport shorts
I actually had not played Skyward Sword and was unaware of that too be honest. How does Link fit in that is he also a deities descendant with powers that manifest? I was of the impression that it just passed along through bloodlines and/or reincarnation.BiH-Kira said:It's not a female version of Link. Don't change Link and Zelda.
Swapping Zelda's gender is out of question. She isn't a reincarnation, she's a female descendant. If you played Skyward Sword, you should know that Zelda was once the goddess Hylia. She sacrifices her immortality to do things and get reborn as the first Zelda that had the powers. After that every other Zelda is just a descendant and only female descendants can use her goddess power.ScaredIndie said:I'm pretty happy they did this, I always though it would be interesting to change up Link and Zelda's genders. It is a story about reincarnation after all so it makes perfect sense. Not sure if I would get behind a gender swapped Gannon though because his lore is a little messier but even that could still work.
I'm afraid I don't get what you mean. "Linkle" and "Linkel" are pronounced the same in my dialect (Midwest US).Vigormortis said:"Linkle"?
Jesus christ, couldn't they have thought of a slightly less....stupid variant of Link? Linkle sounds like a cheesy joke, as if someone created the name to mock the very idea of a female Link.
Gads, they could just transpose the "l" and the "e" and the name would sound better than "Linkle".
Hate to break it to you, but fem-Links already been a thing for a while I'm sure. It's the internet afterall.Aerosteam said:Rule 34 if her is being created right now.

Don't be such an...inkle...discrimininkle.VanQ said:Why didn't they just keep her name as Link? Link is hardly a masculine name to begin with but Linkle just sounds dumb.
It actually seems like she's supposed to be a separate character to Link, as far as I can understand. They visualized "female Link" by creating an imouto for Link. Of course feel free to correct me.She was described as a "little sister" type at that time.
It's read as Rinkuru in Japanese and sounds alright. It's better than going for the obvious Rinko, that's for sure.Vigormortis said:"Linkle"?

You're in for a ride if you've never seen gender-bender art of Link. It's been going on for a long-ass time.Aerosteam said:Rule 34 if her is being created right now.
Yeah. I'm vaguely upset that this is going to be in the port only, at least from the way they're phrasing things. I was considering buying the port, but these kinds of shenanigans just push me away from it.Hiddelgreyk said:Hell yeah! A completely new character!
-> for the 3DS port.
... well f*ck you then. Maybe I can still hope for this one as DLC for the Wii U version? And while I'm dreaming, maybe even for free?
Moving on...
This is apparently a seperate character from Link, not a female reincarnation?
Good, because I'd prefer a female Link to look more like this [http://www.deviantart.com/art/The-Legend-of-Zelda-Linkle-511731134], personally.
Or like the one we saw in the Zelda WiiU trailer![]()
Link looks like a girl dressed as a boy in half his iterations anyway. Don't worry, I'm sure there'll be some rule 34 that will clear the gender questions right up.Zontar said:That's the problem with gender-bending a character, you either end up with someone who looks like they're in drag or you have a character who may as well be a different character altogether in terms of design.Johnny Novgorod said:Character looks like Link in drag.
Because that's not how reality works. Believe it or not, Nintendo has not confirmed anything of her relation to Link beyond just somehow looking a lot like him and having a very similar name. In fact, she's almost like a joke character in that regard because of the bizarre coincidences involved in her design in-universe. Seriously, I can only imagine how the rest of the gang reacts to her.erttheking said:http://i.kinja-img.com/gawker-media/image/upload/aoz8kgx8pzknypz7z38n.jpg
Seriously, why can't we get a Persona 3 Portable where you play as the same character regardless of gender, but the genders have distinct personalities.
Well I guess this means that we will get a vn with Link as the protag an Linkle, as his adopted, not blood-related, like seriously guys there is nothing weird in this, little sister.Aiddon said:There are in fact (and surprisingly) NO relations between her and Link at the moment beyond just looking like him and having a similar name.
