Just by looking through these comments I can safely say that this decision in itself was a better advertisement than the clip in this movie would've been.

Hasn't Bieber only been popular for a couple of years at most? WTH? Michael Jackson had to wait until he was DEAD before he got a full length movie all about him and it wasn't even in 3D! (At least I think that's right. Never followed him much.)
Actually Michael Jackson first movie was an anthology film released in 1988 called Moonwalker.
And its a lot better than what Justin will ever acomplish.

Really? Aside from Smooth Criminal I found it very dull.
Oh and I?m wrong about Moonwalker being Jackson?s first film. He also played the scarecrow in the 1976 movie adaptation of the Broadway show the Wiz.

Okay so I stand corrected about the Moonwalker, but at least Jackson waited till he was 30.

As for Wiz, that's not a movie all about Jackson. That's Jackson playing a role.

Nintendo has a huge following as it is and fifteen seconds won't make people buy more mario. It's not quite enough to make fangirls go "OHMYGAWDZ HE PLAYS MARIO? I GOTTA PLAY MARIO SO THAT WE HAZ CONNECTION", unless of course, it actually shows him playing it and noting it by name. On the other hand, nintendo's more mature audiences might take note of this. It might lose money. Maybe it's fuzzy logic, but I wouldn't want to be associated with Bieber under any circumstances.

Scott pilgrim, on the other side, was a movie that never had, and in a modern age never could have any controversy behind it. Nintendo stood nothing to lose from allowing zelda to be thrown in.

And yeah, the note this is going to get and is getting on gaming websites is likely to inspire more confidence in nintendo. Hell, I like nintendo more just by reading and posting about it.

Dear Nintendo,

I take back most of the mean things I've said about you recently

except for the bit about not exploring new IPs and betraying the gamers in the name of the casuals, you guys kinda earned that.
They didn't betray the gamers, every game the gamers wanted got made, in addition to appealing to casuals. I suppose we are still waiting for a new Star Fox, a new F-Zero, and for them to FINALL translate Mother 3 and release EarthBound of the Virtual Console, but seriously, that sort of thing needs to stop.

I don't know about what you mean about new IPs, though.

Yeah, because Mario totally needs more advertising.

Seriously, who the hell hasn't heard of Mario yet?
I shit you not, I was watching a movie (documentary) on Somali pirates and one of them had on a shirt for super mario brothers 2. If they've heard of you in Somalia you know you probably no longer need to advertise.

I'm sorry but Beiber is part of a different video game generation. That is the hard truth and a movie about self-promotion of himself where using a game like Mario has literally no connection.
Here here, my thoughts exactly.

Maybe its as simple as some Nintendo employees use the internet, and see more gamers dislike him than like him, therefore = simple business decision.

I can kinda see why Bulletstorm isn't trying to get some space in that movie too, it's probably not going to appeal to their core demographic.

Sort of a rough guestamute. I actually just cheacked, considering work for Pokemon Red and Blue began in 1998, I believe, Beeb was 4 so not really I suppose... but I was close, wasnt that about the time Disney bought him from the slave market?
Well, on the subject, Disney has been around longer than I have. They've been around for about 60-70 years, but I'm pretty certain their target audience today aren't the people who were alive back when they first start, just as I'm pretty sure Pokemon's target audience aren't those who where playing red and blue back in the day.

"I Love Nintendo has leveled up!"

Even more importantly, why does he still have a job?
Because bad movie makers don't usualy get fired? Look at Uwe Boll.
Does anyone honestly like Uwe Boll movies?
No. But the commentaries are great. Especialy when he blames the actors for why his movies suck.

They have right to do that, and they used their right, now it is unfair?
Can someone explain wtf is going on here? Nintendo has no right to choose who they let to use their IP material?

If I would be able to choose I'd say, fuck Bieber, he ain't getting any use of my IP*. (pardon my language) (*If I would have successful IP to begin with)

I suppose thats true but as most Pokemon games follow a similar formula they proberly believe they already have the older fans hooked, which in my case at least is true. Notice I only talk about the games here, I understand all to well that the show/movies are all to atrocious...... even if Misty was a smoking hotty...... we were the same age at the time...... ssssssh!

I love how the directer person has critisised Nintendo for turning down free advertising, but by turning the offer down they have recieved free advertising.
And turning it down is good free advertising, wheras the movie would be bad advertisment.
This XD
