I don't care about all the unwarranted hype around "Bieber" because like all things he will get old and that will kill his image very VERY fast.
i give him a year.
two if he's lucky.
More if he plans on being made of plastic... but that would be somewhat noticeable at age 50.
nah.
that's a last ditch effort to stay in the media.
after hi carreer is practicaly dead.
that and checking into an insane asylem.
it's the two ways a celebrity can get back on top.

or they could actually improve their work, but then again that requires WORK.

I'm sorry but Beiber is part of a different video game generation...Nintendo have nothing to gain and actually something to lose...
On the contrary, Beiber caters for the EXACT generation Nintendo does. 13 year-old girls (many whom own a Nintendo DS along with Animal Crossing, Nintendogs, Pokemon, etc).
How dare you mix Pokemon into this, ITS BEEN AROUND LONGER THEN HES BEEN ALIVE!!!
God damn you, now I feel old...

Aren't biopics generally reserved for that low point in a career after the drug induced nose dive but sometime after the recover and regrouping of the band?

You see the difference is that Scott Pilgrim was an awesome movie and this Bieber movie is going to be awful. With no chance of it being watchable for anyone besides the the screaming mass of unbridled idiocy that makes up the majority of Biebers fan base.

Almost all music used in films, including theme songs for other properties, are paid for to be used in the film. I bet the beiber film wanted to use it for free and now they're trying to bad mouth Nintendo for expecting compensation to use property Nintendo owns.

Yeah, because Mario totally needs more advertising.

Seriously, who the hell hasn't heard of Mario yet?
The same kind of people who listen to Justin Beiber.

And the fact that the director of this movie Tweets with worse spelling and grammar than Kanye West, I think that this just makes the movie look worse and not Nintendo.

Lol, made my day. What use would the music have? I'm pretty sure all the movie is gonna be his album played over and over with screaming girls inserted every 20 seconds.
Isn't that what his concerts are? Nothing like Pendulums...

First of all, good on Nintendo! They know what good product association is!

And secondly, why does the director type like my chav freinds?

Serious question - is this sarcasm or you being serious (sorry, but sometimes it's hard to tell with internet posts).

The reason they let Edgar Wright use the Zelda music in Scott Pilgrim is because he said they were like nursery rhymes for a generation. I guess they're pretty selective about it.

'Lost out on free advertising' eh?

Let's look at this.

Justin Beiber, a guy who has been around for a few years and garnered the attention of slavering pre-teen morons...

Mario, a character that has just recently celebrated it's 25th anniversary and has yet to fail at selling something just by having his face on it...

Yeah, so much free advertising lost...

Props to Nintendo.

I think Miyamoto doesn't want to sell out his creations for the sake of netting a few million bucks, Mario has been a symbol for Nintendo since the early eighties.

Either that, or he doesnt wan't to assosiate it with some guy who's fans only likes him for his Disney-esque fame (the infamous kind, not the Pixar kind), besides once his voice drops and puberty sets in his fans might not even like him anymore.

What was Step Up anyway? never even seen any adverts about it except for the DVDs being on sale at places like Morrisons.

Probally jumping the gun though, did they even menction where in the film they were using the music? could just be a context thing, or perhaps it's different with Scott Pilgrim just because of it's slight videogame overtones perhaps?

I don't blame them though. You couldn't pay me enough to appear on-screen as an Extra for that movie.
