Where's the logic in that!
Exactly. If you were to say "Who's the best company at really really not giving a shit about their fans because they're going to preach to people who don't want to play games anyway?" Then sure, I'd vote Nintendo.

They only make so much money at the minute because the Wii is overpriced (you read that right) and their games will be a lot cheaper to make than games on the REAL big 3 (PC, 360 and PS3).

Besides like someone else pointed out, the term "Best" is pretty vague and open to interpretation. Certainly (about to re-iterate that guy's post now) if we're talking about games, that's entirely subjective as proven by my previous paragraphs.

If you're talking in terms of money, that's a one way street. The only reason I can think they make so much is because of the reasons I said earlier on. But in that case, I'm surprised MS isn't on there or Sony. Sony make bloody everything (phones, consoles, games, dvd/blu ray players, CD players, what not) and MS supply the majority of households with an OS as well as their Office apps and all the branded hardware and software.

Wait....Nintendo, a company that makes games beat out Google, a company that makes tons of useful services? I realize "best" is extremely arbitrary, but come on, that's just retarded.
Businessweek is clearly showing just how much garbage it really is...

I mean, where is Nissan on this list? After all the f@#*in things its doing with robots?!

Huh. Well big grats to Nintendo, then.

And I don't blame them for my Wii not getting much action recently. I blame my awesome PC, and the lack of a TV in my room. <_<

Didn't take long for the haters to flock to this, I see.

I can kinda understand them being at number one. Their business tactics are nothing short of genius, and the fact that they still have a fanbase that has followed them for over 20 years now says more about their success than anything else.

Astounding amounts of Butthurt in this thread.

We get it guys. You hate fun. You don't have to keep beating us over the head with your opinions. The rest of us however enjoy activities that are fun, and we don't need super high resolution ferns and muzzle flash to achieve that feeling.

The sooner you accept that the Wii is a successful console and stop treating it like your bastard stepchild the sooner you can start having fun with the rest of us. If you would rather hang out on the internet and spew bile over the littlest praise that Nintendo receives then that's up to you.

I'll be in the living room actually playing a game, with other people, in the same room.

You all laugh at Nintendo now, but you know it as well as I do:

60 years from now, your grandchildren's grandchildren will still be able to play Mario, Zelda and many other beloved fanchises, while Microsoft and Sony will still have to bow at the altar of Nintendo for permission to exist.

I'd rather be dead then suffer through that. Because Nintendo stopped caring about their old franchises. 60 years from now they'll be playing sequels that don't even star the classic characters. It will be a mess.

So much money yet so little good games.

Quite an achievement, indeed.
Yet they have been in so many industys, they did white goods at some point as well as playing cards!
Isn't that what they started out making? Playing cards?

There is no logic. It's just PR. These lists are just made out of people's preferences and should never, ever be considered of any significance. Very much like the Oscars or Brit Awards.

While it is true that Sony has made a lot of products, since everybody seems to have at least one of each of them, their sales have slowed down compared to Nintendo, add to that that the PS3 hardly has anything original for it and people only seem to get it to watch blueray. So I'd have to say that for now, Nintendo is quite superior compared to Sony, at least Nintendo is selling games, even though most of them are for casual gamers. You really have to dig to find what you want.

Yes, I quite agree with you. There are too many haters out there that only go after what is currently popular and innovative. I mean, the most that the 360 and PS3 have put out is shooter games, racers, and madden, nothing much to tell about, while Nintendo is busily expanding in just about every genre. Besides, I really dislike games where you absolutely have to have an internet connection to 'fully enjoy' a 360 game and how you have to download stuff in order to be able to fully play it.
News flash to 360, finish the games and then bring them out! It's basically their attempt at trying to bring out games as fast as Nintendo but they cut down greatly in quality by leaving them half-finished.
Would you agree to this?

World's Best Company? I know Nintendo is a great company but what was Google doing this year? Destroying YouTube even more?
