Fils-Aime compared the Vitality Sensor to the confusion that surrounded the Wii-Mote, saying: "We probably had a similar conversation about the Wii Remote: how is this going to work, how is it going to work with the games that I want to play--I don't get it."
I'm sorry, what? Who had doubts about the Wiimote? Immediately upon seeing its design and finding out how it was supposed to work, I thought it was downright brilliant. The possibilites were vast and intriguing. Certainly I'm not the only individual who noticed its raw potential.
The vitality sensor does not compare to the Wiimote in the least. Its applications are absurdly limited in comparison to the controller, and quite frankly, I can't see this as anything more than a mere gimmick. As someone said before, this could have some marvelous potential in the field of horror games, but other than that, there's not much to it.
Either I'm too ignorant to see the incredible potential of this product, or Nintendo's success has gone to its metaphorical head to be touting this as though it was some amazing device that will shock the gaming community with its awesomeness.
