whose to say I'll be alive in 20, 40, 60 years? I want it around now so that's what I'll do.
maybe I'll look back and regret it, who can say. But I can say that I've made a lot of friends frequenting my tattoo studio and convention's, people who I otherwise may never have met. I'm glad I got them.
piercings however, I can't stand. But that's just because I don't like the idea of having pieces of metal hanging off my body.

Pretty much people who like fanarts of a fat (obese) or muscular version of frictional character (anime or cartoon).
Ok, if it's people who like photo of real life fat/ muscular person then that is not my place to judge but in this case, why did someone draw fanart or liked that anime/ cartoon character to be fatter or muscular at all?
I have seen a many disgusting fetish (like lolicon or shotacon, which is like legal pedophilia and many more I will not list for everyone's mental safety) that make me lose faith in humanity and how people could be into it in the first place is beyond me

People who say that the South fought to protect slavery, when everyone who studies the Civil War knows it was over States rights
oh... oh COME ON. Don't give me that. The whole reason behind it was because the south wanted to preserve their way of life, which was focused around the plantation elite slaveholders. In fact, south seceded in the first place was because Abraham Lincoln's election was considered the last straw, and why? Because he endorsed the non-extension of slavery. I'll be fair, it was about states' rights... but you forgot to finish your sentence. It was about states' rights to allow slaves in the state. The entire conflict revolved around slavery, don't try and ignore it. In fact, none of it would have happened if slavery had stopped after 20 years like it was supposed to, but no, there had to be congressional compromises, debates (which at points turned violent), and a bunch of other bullsh*t just to pacify the southern slaveholders and... and...

You know what... forget it.
Alright then, Maybe I jumped the gun. Here, let me rephrase that...

People who still want southern culture and the south in general to still suffer from the civil war

Bottom line...the wars been over for 200 years. The North won, the South lost, and while nothing will change the fact that most of the generals I like were on the Southern side (Lee, Jackson, and Longstreet, just to name a few), Its over. Slaverys bad, the good guys won. No let them go and live in peace and forget what they've done.

Oh okay, that makes more sense. And I agree that's a perfectly reasonable request, I didn't think there were still people who antagonized the south for the civil war...

Mine is probably the people who hate on apple all day. I haven't heard a serious argument yet, and it's always "I don't want to have to buy a new phone every year". Great, because you don't. Apple has one of the highest reliability ratings in the entire tech industry. Apple computers (aside from the mac pro) are not THAT overpriced (MacBook airs are , and more then pay for themselves when you consider that one copy of windows costs $200, and five copies of Mac OS X costs $30.
Yeah, I have hated on a few macs before, and, honestly, it doesn't matter. I've just learned that holding that viewpoint just doesn't really serve any purpose, and it really isn't true anymore; one OS really isn't better than another anymore, and trying to convince someone that the OS they use sucks is just an argument of futility. I use Win7 because I am used to it, it fits me and my lifestyle, and I just don't see myself using a Mac or the Mac OS (and I get Win7 free from the University, but that's a different topic). Other people prefer the Mac OS because, well, it is what they are used to and what they like to use. Some OS are better for certain people, lifestyles, and even for certain industries of work.

Anyways:

And as for the phone or device craze, I don't want to get an iPhone, mostly because I don't want my entire life to go through Apple; I don't really want to become attached to the "Cult of Apple" that I see walking around occasionally. I got an iTouch instead, bought a couple apps, which were conveniently deleted off my iTunes account when I upgraded it. They just disappeared into the internet ether. Now, I have an apple paper weight that tells time while I run around with my Galaxy S2.

Yeah... I hope that is a serious argument (or a serious lack there-of).

It wasn't really about the actual argument, I have reasons for using macs and iPhones... and at least one reason to own a windows computer. It was more of people hating on apple just for the sake of hating apple. But to address your non-argument hopefully without starting a flame war, here are some reasons I don't have a GS2. Saying the android market, or even platform, is fragmented is an understatement. While iOS is split between about 10 devises in 2 categories, android is split between hundreds of devices in 5 categories, all serving a different purpose, with different input methods, and most of all, different technical specifications, all the way from what barely constitutes a scientific calculator to the few phones that are more powerful then the iPhone. Apple's means of bug testing apps far surpass google's, as do their quality standards. And to top all that off, the Android market is a great deal smaller then the app store, and probably still is even when you count third party app stores like amazon's. Then comes the phones. There is no phone on the android side that has anything close to the retina display. In fact, the phones that beat the iPhone in technical specifications have larger screens then the iPhone, and yet still lower resolutions. And then comes the software updates. Some android manufacturers stop updating their phones to the newest version of android after as little as 6 months. I would also disagree with your picture, a more apt comparison is chrome OS to google. I learned windows because of directX11, and if there was a better platform for what I use my computer for, I would switch in a second.

I find the idea of it totally repulsive. That these religious groups have the audacity of going to other nations, that are less well off, and pretty much saying, "Hey we'll help you and give you food and water... but only if you ditch your peoples cultures and language and adapt ours." It's sick, and the worst part is that they really don't help at all. They don't teach them how to grow food or how to maintain things, they just give out handouts and then leave the people to fend for themselves. So in the end an old and interesting culture, and language, is erased and the people aren't left off any better.

I had no intention of starting a flame war. They're typically a waste of time that really just allows some people to think they have won an argument that really should have happened to begin with. Probably why I stuck to a non-argument.

Anywho... As I said, I used to hate on Apple, but I stopped this past summer because I got sick of it. Though when I did, it would probably not be a lie to say that I did it slightly out of fear (jealousy?) that someone had something that was better than what I had. However as time went on, it became rather quickly obvious that most of the arguments I heard for Apple being better than Microsoft became just as convoluted and fallacious as the arguments I always heard/gave for the opposite.

As for what you brought up, I wasn't trying to dispute that Apple did well with their devices: they have been in the market for awhile, and sort of are the standard to beat. I still keep my iTouch around for those very reasons that you brought up about the marketplace, there are some great apps on there that I'd like that are not on Android. Sadly, Apple lost me when they wiped my account's rights to all of my apps. It pissed me off, pushed me away, though on the bright side it did give me more time to read my Kindle. As for devices, that could really just be a result of how Google went opensource with Android and how Apple stayed in house for developing devices for their iOS.

You want a serious argument for being against Apple? Honestly, the best one would be the business practices; I won't dare decry an Apple product right now, they are rather well made - if just marketed a bit sensationally. The recent issues between copyrights of hardware and trademarks of names are just disgusting. It's just bad for the industry. Apple isn't the only one at fault, but they are certainly making it hard to think they aren't the villain.

There are plenty of people that are "anti-Apple," but honestly, you can't deny that there are plenty of people who were absolutely enamored with Apple and Steve Jobs. Those people I really just don't get. Or maybe I do.. *sigh* I don't know...

I try to stay at least semi-optimistic. Maybe not another 60 years, but at least another 40 would be nice. Others can do whatever the fuck they want, but the idea of body mods in general is disturbing it me. The worst is those giant ear rings that stretch out the earlobe, those look like a medieval torture.

I had a similar experience with microsoft. I have a box for windows 7 professional, but the key gives me an error. I am not going to hate an entire company over it. I have plenty of other reasons to hate microOKAY I'LL STOP! I agree on the lawsuit thing, by the way, apple is suing samsung, who manufacturers 90% of the LCDs they put in their products. That's not just immoral, that is fucking retarded.

On the petty side of things, role playing, and any obsession with fictitious characters.

On the less petty side, any kind of bias based solely on a person's ethnic background, gender, sexual orientation, or anything of the sort.

I never supported pot smoking, I merely support the right to do it. I don't smoke tobacco and I rarely drink, but I still think it's very important that others be allowed to choose for themselves whether or not they will use these things (within reason, I'm not defending heroin here).

Marijuana -is- bad for you. So is McDonald's and Taco Bell, the latter of which barely qualifies as food. It still isn't my right or the right of the government to tell people not to light up* or eat garbage.

*As an aside, marijuana's negative effects can be almost entirely sidestepped just by eating it. I don't know why anyone even bothers to smoke it, it's just stupid. Baking is far harder to trace, less harmful, and doesn't give you a mouthful of fucking smoke. Maybe smoke is an acquired taste?

I can't for the life of me understand why video games companies (and I'm being very loose in using the term), keep releasing all that shovelware you see taking up most of the shelf space at your local game retailer. Who actually buys them, and are they really selling enough to keep making more of them? The world may never know...
If it wouldn't sell, why would it take up most of the shelf space? ;)
I'm just remarking on how video games that no gamer in their right mind would ever purchase (think along the lines of the My First Baby set of games), still end up cluttering the shelves. You would think that not enough people would buy them to validate making more of them, but somehow, there they are.

Just my own observation, though. Maybe I'm missing something. *shrugs*

Being open-minded doesn't mean that you can comprehend everything, it just means that you don't shut things out. If you don't understand why somebody does something that doesn't make you close-minded. You're close-minded if you refuse to give the subject or their reasoning any consideration.

I'll also add that being open-minded doesn't mean agreeing with everything. I understand that desperation can lead someone to do stupid things, but that doesn't mean I automatically excuse someone for doing this.
being open minded means that you think about all possible reasons for something, and do research in case you've missed something, so that you still take a side, but you understand the reasoning and logic of the other side.

start by assuming they have reached a logical and morally correct reason for an action, then try and find out what it is, then decide it it is more logical or morally correct then the alternative logic of the opposing belief.

if you cant wrap you head around why people say, take drugs, then you cant think up a logical or moral reason for them to do so, not because a reason does not exist, but because your not open minded enough.

the only difference between that and refusing to look for an answer is that with the latter you start be assuming they are stupid and with the former you assume they are stupid after giving up.

the question says that none of us are completely open minded, and asks us to name something which we cant find a logical reason for (but haven't necesserally given up on yet), even though one might exist

i dont understand why people like gaddafi kill there own citizens, but i still believe they have a reason, even if it is debatable, and will defend them completely should someone say they are straight out evil. i will only stop this if i come across the reason and decide, while its still debatable, that i choose to take the side against it, and even then will still state their reasoning with as little bias as possible.

I entirely agree. I think people who smoke tobacco are far stupider then people who smoke pot, tobacco doesn't do anything other then get you addicted. If you are going to get lung cancer and your brain cells are going to die because of oxygen deprivation, you might as well make it worth it.

I cannot understand drinking or drugs.
I dunno, i strive to maintain consciousness and intelligence. looking upon the world with diligence and have a critical eye towards everything. I have suffered from intense shell shock and depression. Never finding it necessary to go to either of those things, nor do i find stupidity an attractive manner of having fun.

Just to add in, i'm not a old man or stuck up health nut either, i'm a 16 year old in the middle of a teenage apocalypse. Aka high school. And am surrounded by options and those who choose (in my mind) the wrong ones daily. But it's a concept which just boggles my mind.

Also i guess this generation in general. i mean, when was it cool to wear a hat on the tip of your spiked up hair then wear another hat on top of that? or have your pants pulled down to your knees with another pair of pants under that. Or the music, it's treacherous, i listen to Judas priest and led zeppelin whereas this generation seems in love with what is effectively an assault charge placed to bass. Before you make a judgement to, I'm not a skinny outcast-ed nerd either. i love those types don't get me wrong, but I'm the huge 6'2 metalhead who leads the amazing group of misfits assembled at my school.

O.T Drugs, drinking, this generation and teenager-isms?

What I can't understand is why some people these days seem to PREFER the thought of dying and being gone forever instead of at least HOPING for an afterlife.

Seriously, if you are quite pleased with death then why do you make fun of those that aren't ? Like calling those of us who believe "just for comfort" weak? Ooooooh well aren't you a mighty self-entitled example of human perfection that may stare down upon all the weaker peasants. The ego of some of these people is just astounding. The will to survive is what has kept many species from extinction Mr.Perfect. I'm not saying all atheists are like that of course.

And the Westburo Baptist church, I understand them a hell of a lot LESS than the above mentioned. Why would you so enthusiastically believe in a God, which may not even exist just like all other Gods, that seeks to bring doom to us all? Why would you be preaching doom and hate so enthusiastically? Why do you seem to ENJOY hateful standpoints? What the hell is wrong with you? Why do you seem to WANT suffering and why do you PRAISE it when it occurs?

Now, UNLEASH THE QUOTES!

Well, with the Wii and Facebook etc, games aren't exclusive to gamers anymore, so the market for those games has grown a lot.

They're also likely cheaper to make, so they don't have to sell as much as hardcore titles to be profitable.
