I honestly wish I was, but unfortunately Im not.
I remember reading the bible as a kid and being shocked at the violence and cruelty perpetrated by a figure that up until that point Id been told was all about unconditional love, peace and tolerance.
Since then Ive become something of a myth geek, but christian (and especially catholicism) is both the richest and most bloodthirsty.
This isnt an intentional attack on your faith so please hold back on that empassioned rant, Ill just ignore it- believe what you want and I'll do the same, with no need for getting our blood pressures raised.

I think the reason you never get a reply is that when someone offers to tell you about it you act like a victim. Might want to do a bit of research sometimes.

As an offshoot of suicide, I'll say that self-harming is definitely another thing that I cannot grasp. I genuinely find it hard to take pity on people who hurt themselves as a way of dealing with their problems. There's enough people trying to hurt us in this world without successfully doing it ourselves....

As someone who's... well, *tried* to harm himself, I could try to shed some light on it. I suspect the experience is highly subjective though.
Self harm isn't an attempt to deal with problems. At least in my case, it offered short-term relief. When you're in pain, your mind focuses only on that.
It's like entering a meditative state.
Before I cut, my mind was just buzzing with thousands of thoughts, all sad, depressing or painful. It's a very stressful situation to be in, and when so cut all those thoughts are blown away for a moment and in your mind there is only an acute awareness of the cut.
It brings calm, in a very weird, sort of disturbing way.
In a way, it just feels right when you do it.

Keep in mind that I'm not recommending self-harm. I'm just trying to explain the concept somewhat rationally.

I know many people who have self-harmed (even my girlfriend has done it in the past) and I've had extensive conversations with people with self-harming experience. They've all explained exactly what you said but...well...I still can't understand how people think it can help. I get that it's a way to forget everything else for a brief moment but...nope...still can't understand why people do it.

It likely doesn't help that - despite being a cynical person - I'm one of the most positive people I know. I'm a paradox lol.

Strangely though, the Bible prohibits such acts; just another fact that proves most Christians are diluted ,and have no little idea of their faith(No offence intended).

Not taking a potshot, just curious. I was under the impression that quite a lot of Christian sects believe that following Jesus is the only way to get to Heaven.

Personally, I always liked that bit at the end of The Last Battle (I think) where Aslan tells the dwarfs that they get to go to Heaven just for being decent blokes, even though they never worshipped him.

I think you have a very limited concept of what exactly "religion" entails. It's not limited to Western monotheism, or even theism in general. It's not even always a moral and social doctrine. And where the strange moral codes are, they are often (if not always) a reflection of the people's inherent views, not the other way around. So they aren't "overlooking" anything, they're just doing what they already believe is right. Fundamentalism and extremism, as it were, aren't diseases, really, they're symptoms.

Because it is that real life person decision to be fat or muscular while the frictional character is not suppose to be fat or muscular in the first place. Yes it's the fanart artist who alter that character to be that way so it like being force to be fat or muscular (yes I know the character are not real but still).

I know people like it but I just don't understand why since I cannot relate them for liking something that is many think you're a weirdo.

You say "but still," but I don't think you're really supporting that. The whole point of fan art is to take liberties with the subject material for the sake of personal expression. As for the last part, I hope you can at least understand what it's like from their perspective, seeing as you're a brony and all. You may still not understand why it is they like it, but at least you can understand what it's like to like something "weird," right?

I agree with this statement, but I feel I should point out that atheism is a faith, not a religion. In order for it to be a religion it would have to have a clear charter and heirarchy. Otherwise you are spot on, just me being picky about semantics.

I don't understand people that commit crime. I can't wrap my head around how somebody can be so immature that they don't develop a sense of responsibility or empathy for other people by the time they reach adulthood. Spur of the moment reactions are just down to willpower, or lack thereof, but commiting a planned and organised crime with a clear thought process behind that exists for nothing other than personal gain is an action I will never understand.

There's probably a lot more things I could list, but off the top of my head, it's this sort of behaviour that makes me go into a kind of irrational rage.

We're all biased, at the end of the day. None of us really know a single thing about the world we live in for what it truly is, because every detail of it is skewed abd distorted by our own personal mindset, wants, hopes, fears, values and opinions, whether we know it or not. True open mindedness doesn't exist.

You've clearly never experienced desperation, TRUE desperation. Like, life or death kind of desperation.

If you knew what it was like to find yourself trapped by either bad decisions, bad luck, or a combination of the two, with little to no hope on the horizon, you might be driven to lash out in order to save yourself.

That is probably the origin of criminal activity.
Otherwise it's usually dumbass kids trying to live the thug life.
