I'm going to second Amazing Spider-Man. Man of Steel at least tried to portray the core of the character: a man with godlike abilities serving as an inspirational symbol for the entire human race. They failed in representing it, but at least they understood.
Amazing Spider-Man does not get Spider-Man. He was an outcast, mocked by society, but otherwise a completely normal guy. He gets bitten by the spider, gets his powers and acts selfishly with them until his actions lead to the death of his uncle, making him realize that old catchphrase "with great power comes great responsibility". He was a normal person given the chance to do good. In ASM, they made him a variation of "the chosen one", showing the people who made this movie do not get the point of Spider-Man.
