EA is killing Bioware
Oh great, another one.

It is NOT Bioware developing Genrals 2.

The studio was renamed Bioware Victory after the formal announcement of Generals 2 at the Spike VGA's last year.

Here's a view of EA headquaters

OT:Really? EA are you that stupid... Wait that would just be an insult to stupid people. Why would you do this? The fans aren't going to be happy with it. Newcomers aren't going to be happy with it. EA, you need medication or something.

Well, here's to EA raping yet another childhood favorite. Srsly, RTS without single player? I only played RTS multi at a few LAN parties back in high school - I have no interest in playing online with a bunch of strangers.

I'd rather they make an old-fashioned C&C game that I need to pay for than a multiplayer fuckup that is name-only with what I once loved and free.

Skirmishes *grumbles* What's next, the C&C FPS?

Wow... mulitplayer is somehow the staple of C&C? not when I got my first C&C game it wasn't.

I didn't mind Generals that much, multiplayer could be fun against people but the learning curve was tough. When it came to Red Alert 3 however... Jesus... too many options for unit abilities and how to use them.

I dunno, I might give Generals 2 a bash but... eh... wary of it tbh

This is NOT "EA's popular modern warfare RTS franchise", it's Westwood who made it big, made the name mean something.
The buffoons at EA (and somehow bioware is now involved in c&c too...) just shit all over it.
Actually, EA developed the spin-off C&C generals...So, EA are screwing over their own game. Funny.

Wouldn't it be more humane to put EA out of its misery and shoot them already? Seriously, they are starting to act like a demented dog who has trouble walking and occasionally pisses and/or shits all over itself. When your dog starts acting like that you have it put to sleep.

[sub]and contrary to my dog, I do not love EA[/sub]

Kids, would you step outside for a second...

I try not to care about EA's doing to this franchise nowadays, yet somehow this news has wounded me.

Didn't know it was going to be F2P. That made me hate it a little bit. Now, with this news of no sp campaign, I'll *definitely* be relegating it to the "no way in hell" stack.

The shame is, I really liked C&C Generals the first time around.

Well, seeing as single player was one of the most fun things about C&C: Generals, this goes into the "Nope." pile.

Well, fuck you then, EA. I play the games for the campaigns. What is C&C known for? Cheesy FMV cutscenes, and entertaining story missions. Also:

"We decided to choose Generals as the first set of games we build under the universe, but we'll be expanding after that, like Tiberium and Red Alert as well as some others as well."
DON'T YOU DARE TOUCH MY TIBERIUMS AND RED ALERTS! I'll come down to your offices and eat all your hard drives.
Generals isn't in the universe, it's some stupid 'near future' setting they made up and put on the C&C IP to sell more. It's literally as related to the others as it is to starcraft, and at least they share build mechanics. Generals shares the fact it is an RTS with Tanks, and that's about it.
Yeah, but I still liked it. It had a strange feel that reminded me of the good old days. It was nowhere near as good, but it still had a focus on story, slightly.

To the surprise of absolutely no one.

What, you thought EA were going to make a free-to-play single player game? Hah!

Isn't Generals the one that absofuckinlutely sucked anyway? The one with shittier AI than any previous C&C game and indeed possibly any previous RTT ever?

Y'know, the one no one would've bought anyway?
Really? I loved it. It was so damn ballsy releasing that in the climate of the time and it had some really great missions in it. Hell, I played through it again a few months ago and it still had its cheesy charm.
