Perhaps something of the opposite of what was intended for this thread, but I've come to realise that english accents in other languages could be the most hilarious thing ever.
For instance, I currently reside in Geneva working at an international work place. I have a limited knowledge of french from swedish elementary school, which is helpful when going to the lunch restaurants. A week or so ago, I heard an american guy order coffee with the heaviest accent I've ever heard.
"Qatre cafey, sill vou play!" I realise my own french problably doesn't sound very good, but I could've sworn this was straight from a comedy.
I don't know, it just generally makes me want to hit her in the face with parts of her cool car for an undefined timelength. This urge kinda implies for me that it sucks.PoisonUnagi said:

90% of the time when a Finn speaks English on TV I just want to break the entire device and never use my ears again. Some of us have bearable accents, but most of the time it's embarrassing to the point of being painful. Especially when it's some politician.

I can usually cope with most accents, but the ones that spring to mind are:
Growing up in the Boyzone era in England, all of my peers were constantly telling me how sexy the Irish accent is. It's not. It's so grating, even when it's a mild accent, although Ulster is the absolute WORST.
Australian accents. In fairness to Australians though, this is less to do with the accent, and more to do with the fact that the two people I hear speaking with it most are the most boring, annoying penises I have ever met and as such, I now just associate the sound with feeling an intense need to kill.

I saw a video of an American woman (I think it was on here) explaining how to do a British accent. She spoke as if she was the ultimate authority, but her impressions were wildly inaccurate.

Back on topic: Fake accents in general because they are rarely done well. A persons own accent doesn't annoy me really. They can be hard to understand if they're unfamiliar but not annoying.
