That reminds me that I still need to try out the demo for the Prologue. The whole premise of Winter Voices sounds interesting, though I've read mixed reviews about each chapter. I;'ll have to re-download the demo once i finally get internet that'll let me without me having to worry about a very low download limit...The Red Dragon said:The Winter Voices Episodes. I played the Prologue and enjoyed it so I am going to get the other four episodes. There is a fifth episode coming out for it this month I believe, so i'm looking forward to that aswell.
They're both Japanese games that got an official, translated release on Steam, thus making them available to the masses. Not that the masses would be interested in either of them, being too busy playing Call of Duty: Black Ops. And like I said, the gameplay and aesthetic choices are actually, IMHO, closest to Touhou, except drawn by someone who can draw really well: inexplicably flying girls, really good music and bullets up the [insert profane body part here].Tanakh said:I will totally get that, but... doesn't it has more to do with Jamestown at any rate? I don't see any similarity with Recettear.
I dunno... As indie games go, Touhou is only slightly less well-known (and therefore mainstream) than Minecraft and Braid. Not that it'll be bad, by any means. Just that I don't think it really fits in here.VargRaev said:Hyperdimension Neptunia, and if thats too mainstream for ye... how about 東方神霊廟 ~ Ten Desires? doesnt get more non-mainstream than that ^^
Finally, someone else has the right idea. It only took 3 thread pages.Dethenger said:Trine 2.
I fucking love Trine.
Indeed, the game looks surprisingly good for an indie title. Having a game be 'moody' gets 0 points in my book (lookin at you Limbo/Braid/???).Capt. Crankypants said:Hawken. Really? No-one else here is interested in Hawken?! Tis a sad day for mech combat =(
I guess ICO, sold notoriously poorly in the US. But seriously, demon solds sold over 1.3 million units. No way that's non-mainstream.sergnb said:Couldn't agree more.AdumbroDeus said:All your definitions of "non-mainsteam games" make me sad.
Magna mundi.
Ico/SotC remake? Seriously? god these people
That is actually The Witness [http://the-witness.net/news/], which I posted earlier. There's a lot more stuff done on it, he's had a playable demo available even, but still no release date. You should definitely follow his blog about it, it's kept me itching for moreZarkov said:SKYRIM
YEAH THAT'S TOTALLY NOT MAINSTREAM
Sorry for the caps, I was trying to make my troll terribly obvious.
Anyway, I think that Johnathan Blow (or whatever his name is) is making a new game. Braid was cool, I'm looking forward to whatever he makes next.
