The developer of the mod Kinnkin (forums down so I can't check spelling) is from France, hence the reasons for the French speaking NPC's. But the mod is amazing, don't let the language get in the way of enjoying this fantastic mod.drakythe said:That is... odd. I guess I never really hung around long enough to see the NPCs speak, though the couple times I walked into the trading house I got a "I'm on my way!" message from the tradeswoman. But if they normally speak french, I'm betting that is because the Mod author is European, unless I miss my guess based on his naming schemes.GrizzlerBorno said:Yeah I've seen Millenaire. Never tried it, but the Yogscast did a mod spotlight on it a couple times. Seems like a good effort, but with tons of problems....like how all the townspeople speak French for some reason. Good be a way to change that though to be fair.
Asking the minecraft community to stop whining about everything Notch does is like asking a tapeworm to stop living in someone's stomach.Braedan said:He announces a big update called "Adventure update" and puts a tiny little spoiler about adding ravines and people complain that we already have caves? No one has any idea what is being added besides "Adventure".
Stop whining.
pretty sure you can do that with most level editors, like MCEdit http://www.minecraftwb.com/index.php/addons/tools--utilities/level-editors/item/mcedit-level-editorAssassin Xaero said:These updates that only work on new areas are getting kinda annoying... there any way to "trim" an existing map and have it think that it needs to regenerate new areas?
I actually kind of like the French touch to it. It's not enough so I can't understand it, but it gives it more personality in a way, makes it seem more unknown, and adventurous.Reaganomics said:They speak both english and french. The spotlight the Yogscast did was on a much older version.GrizzlerBorno said:Yeah I've seen Millenaire. Never tried it, but the Yogscast did a mod spotlight on it a couple times. Funny story about being memory intensive... No matter how many mods I add, I can still run Minecraft with a JVM memory limit of 128 Mb. It defaults to giving MC 1 Gb which is WAY too much. I really think it being memory intensive is more the fault of the JVM than the game, and if they looked into it it could be done without absolutely murdering older machines.Ickabod said:Someone also mentioned they wanted to see the sky limit raised. Jeb was giving a speach last week where he mentioned that raising the sky limit was memory intensive, but Notch was interested in the idea of a dynamic sky cap that would allow players to build above the cap, but leave the cap for areas that were untouched.

Do not mock the Sacred Creeper Idol, or else, it will smite you down with the biggest explosion the Minecraft Universe has ever seen!Eggsnham said:With a golden creeper idol in the center and some creepers surrounding the temple, defending it with their lives!Mr.Mattress said:Underground Ruins of ancient Civilizations? He once said something about giving the vanilla game the ability to randomly spawn in NPC towns, and Orc towns, and Dragons and what-not. I wonder if this Ravine thing is just one tiny example of that. I hope so. I can't wait to run into an NPC village in-game.
