I need some suggestions folks - I have a li'l wager going with myself that I can bang out a novel in 30 days starting 1st September 09 with nothing but a title and a vague idea.

Any suggestions for titles?

I asked a friend for four random entities that had to be included in the novel and she gave me this:

- A journalist
- A petrol station
- A former soldier
- A music festival

I'm eager to hear what kind of titles anyone can come up with (if I manage to this I'll be self publishing so any title I use will of course be credited!)

Thanks guys!

"The journalist and former soldier that met at the petrol station and go to a musical festival together with a surprise twist."

Sorry... I'm not very creative at 4:00 A.M. :p

I vote for this. Intriguing title, sounds like something I'd read.

Evenings with mrs. Eloise - Sorry, had to say that =P.

Well it all depends on what you want. From your post, I guess you are going to start with the title, and work around that.

The Man in the silver-brown Shorts. o_O...?

EDIT: Ahh phoque, somehow I didn't get that those had to be included -.-.

Journalist Joe, and the Man in the silver-brown Shorts!

Playing mostly on the music and the petrol station:
  • Slick Lyrics
Or the journalist and the soldier:
  • News from the Front

[small]Pick me! Pick me![/small]

Edit: Oh! Idea!

  • Slick Lyrics: News from the Front

[small]I'm a genius![/small]

To Kill a Mockingbird?

Sir, that's taken

What do you mean it's bloody taken?

My Lord, it's been taken for a number of years now. It's a widely popular novel.

Well no one bloody told me that. What the hell am I paying you people for? Look! Now you've gone and made me look stupid on the forum. Oh there shall be a thrashing today...that is certain. Where's my flail gone? Ove-

Ah, my Lord, you still need to make a suggestion!

What? Oh, right. "A Desire for Tomorrow; a Yearning for the Past." Try that.

But Lord, that had no connection with the topics provided.

I can see that you nonce. That makes it all the better! It provides disconnection. Literary analysts love things like that. Just look at Lord of the Flies!

Very clever Lord.

Yes, I thought so.

Actually "The Lord of the Flies" is one of the names given to the rotting pig's head used as a sacrifice to "the Beast" in Simon's delusional vision, shortly before his death, which reveals that the beast is part of human nature and inside all of us.

So technically, the title is connected since the main spiritual villain in the story is "The Lord of the Flies"

Sorry about that, I did 2 essays on that book for GCSE last year.
