A journalist, A petrol station, A former soldier, A music festival. sounds like a shopping list... it could work!

I've just been going through something similar for my first novel. Unfortunately one of the titles I threw out fits you well, but that's mine! Mine, dammit! I also usually leave the title for last, or change it by the time I'm done with the book. Other people start with the title though, for instance the book Snow Falling on Cedars started with the title.

Here are some thoughts:

Running on Fumes
Deadline Blues
Baghdad Baseline

Thoughts on plot:

Why not have the music festival be a "thank you" for returning veterans? If things went wrong and there were a riot, terrorist attack, or other unpleasantness, there'd be a lot for a young journalist to write about, wouldn't there?

I need some suggestions folks - I have a li'l wager going with myself that I can bang out a novel in 30 days starting 1st September 09 with nothing but a title and a vague idea.

Any suggestions for titles?

I asked a friend for four random entities that had to be included in the novel and she gave me this:

- A journalist
- A petrol station
- A former soldier
- A music festival

I'm eager to hear what kind of titles anyone can come up with (if I manage to this I'll be self publishing so any title I use will of course be credited!)

Thanks guys!
Personally I'd wait until November when 10,000 people are doing the same thing [http://www.nanowrimo.org/eng/whatisnano]
Christ, it's that time of the year already?
What do you think gave me the idea? I'd heard of that years ago, but I see no reason to wait until then :)
The nice thing about waiting until then is that you have the entire NaNo forums to rely upon. As well as the rest of us writing.

I've decided to go with Susan's accidental title suggestion I Guess I am Useless Here. It fits perfectly with the idea I've got. I'll be back on this thread on September 30th 09 with a photo of me with the self-published printed copy! (here's hoping I don't get distracted or 'forget' to write it or I will look rather silly)

Ive just finished reading one of the best titled novels ever....Pride and Prejudice...and Zombies...its priceless, well executed too, its my book of the year so far. And in answer to your thread...."Life...in HD". Lovely and vague. Yet poinient, could represent mans struggle against oppression.
That's the book I am in the progress of reading. It is brilliant!
