I never actually bought Oblivion, but it sounds badass, even though it's oldish by now.

I need to put money aside for Fable 3, but after that, do you think it's worth buying?

Yes, especially if its for Pc so you can play with the mods. But even without it'll still steal a lot of your hours away.

Rent it first, if you find yourself enjoying it like an hour after the sewers then buy it. It's a true RPG, never have I felt stuff in Oblivion in other games. The fear of sneaking through a dungeon on an assasination mission, or the badassery of slaughtering skeleton warriors while looking for an ancient suit of armor. Just try it and if it's for you, you'll play for hours on end.

Yes, and as the other folks mentioned, Get It On PC For the Love Of God. Not only do you get mods, but the game is far less likely to crash on a random side quest (the sole reason I never received the Masque of Clavicus Vile).

Play Morrowind first (also on pc, with mods).
Otherwise you won't be able to see how Oblivion is inferior to it.
Both are pretty good though.

Right, I'll get it, but I'm more of a 360 gamer, and I don't really like mods. I may borrow my friend's first.

That isn't to say I don't do PC games, I got Lord of The Rings: Battle For Middle-earth 2 on PC because it had so much more, like the custom heroes.

Yeah you should, you can pick it up for about £10 - £20 and that's the game of the year edition which come with the expansion packs. It was the first game i had with my 360 and i'm still playing it with about 150 ours of gameplay.

And also i can't wait for Fable 3 haha.

IF your PC can run it, definitely PC. Much more flexible.

However, it's still a good game on the 360 or PS3. I put over 300 hours on my 360 characters before I upgraded my PC enough to handle it.

I rarely do it, but I'm calling /thread.
wait what does that mean?
It basically means something along the lines of "this comment is the best there ever can be for this thread, thus ending the thread, and the rest of the comments are sandwiches in comparison".

DON'T use it in your own comment, you look like an arrogant arse in my eyes. Using it with others is good.

Oblivion is awesomeness on a platter. I can barely wait for TES V

It's no Morrowind, but on PC with mods, it's passable as a better game than any RPG out to date. (Besides Morrowind)

Deffinetly. Morrowind was better, but the user-interface wasn't on the friendly-side.

Despite being a very fun game to play, I should warn you that the main-plot is by far the worst-written story in the game. Be warned. And Sean Bean phoning it in as Martin Septim.

Off Topic, but what the hell happened to his career?

Oh right, the Silent Hill movie.
Never mind.

OT:

Oblivion is in general a very fun game for dicking around, doing strange sidequests and so on. I can recommend doing the Assassin-quests because they're probably the most well-written in the game. In the sense that they don't have horrid writing.

Yes.

Oblivion's a great game, but I like Morrowind much more.

You should try both of them.
Get Morrowind for the PC though. There are some bugs that can screw up quests and you can't fix it on the console.

If you can, get Oblivion for the PC too. I have it for the 360 because this computer can't run it very well...
