Right, I'll get it, but I'm more of a 360 gamer, and I don't really like mods. I may borrow my friend's first.

That isn't to say I don't do PC games, I got Lord of The Rings: Battle For Middle-earth 2 on PC because it had so much more, like the custom heroes.
Well, if you don't have a PC capable of running the game, sure, but don't consider "mods" on the PC to be something you do with your free time to get more hours out of the game. There are some really important ones like the unofficial patches that clear of a crapload of game-breaking bugs. There's also mods that make the game run smoother and mods that remove really badly designed game features like the minigames (I tried to leave them in, but it gets sooooooo boring). Lets not forget the mods that also change the UI so you can see more items at once in your bag and made the overall interface more flexible. I have one mod that allows me to right-click to close any dialogue window and automatically say "yes" to any question. There is also another mod that lets you instantly sell 1 or all of a stack by holding a different key. Both vanilla PC users and the 360 users had to click through a quantity toggle each time they wanted to sell something, and to naturally raise your Mercantile skill, you have to sell something like 20,000 items individually.

I've played it for hundreds, and quite possible in excess of a thousand hours on PS3. That means the purely unmodded, Bethesda intended, glitchtastic, and bug infested version. While it has major issues, some of which split it's community right down the middle (leveled enemies), it's without a doubt the best value for money game I have ever bought, one the very best RPGs (in the top 3), and a gaming experience that CANNOT be forsaken. Similarly I'd recommend Morrowind. The two should only get you back £20, especially if you get Oblivion GOTY for PS3. The other versions come to more for some private lunacy derived reasoning on game retailers part. Especially given how easy it is to pirate.

While I'm at it, I may as well say, if you haven't played it, Fallout 3. But you probably have. Still, such a great game.

I think someone should mention that the GOTY for pc is only like $9 at Gamestop, Game, or any other place you might happen upon videogames. So it's well worth the buy.
I say again.
But still.

Absolutely.

I played it on a my 360 and still loved it, even though compared to the PC version, it's absolute shite.

I never actually bought Oblivion, but it sounds badass, even though it's oldish by now.

I need to put money aside for Fable 3, but after that, do you think it's worth buying?
No,
go find elder scrolls 1 first, then 2, then 3 thhhen finally play 4 and be disappointed like the rest of us who have done this.

Most definitely. I had the game for the 360,spent over 200 hours on it. It truly was a fantastic game.
