Ah, well it's nice that they want to make another one because I would rather like to play another Alpha Protocol game - the first one was a lot of fun, when the weird slow-down hitches from certain rooms to other rooms weren't kicking in and making me suddenly run the other way because I didn't realize the game wasn't registering my mouse movement anymore.

So one with less bugs, that would be awesome.

Another "Alpha Protocol?" Yes. Please. Played the first one through four times and had a blast each time. Obsidian knows how to make compelling stories and great RPGs. Now, if they can just fix the technical issues...

Why?

The game was broken, boring, annoying as shit, and just not fun at all.

The story was lame, the main character sucked, and they've thrown out better plots than what got used in Alpha Protocol.

Admit-tingly, there are a couple damn good characters in the game, like Sis, the G18 and Sev, but a few good characters a sequel does not make.

Alpha Protocol was a fantastic game with more choices than Bioware at their prime. I welcome the possibility of a sequel and while i agree some of the games mechanics were broken i think the game can still stand head and shoulders above many of its peers.

No Obsidian, you DON'T want to "make" another Alpha Protocol game. You want to "write" another Alpha Protocol game and leave the "making" to someone who can do it. Not hating on Obsidian, but everyone seems to complain about the buggines of their games, letting someone else "make" the game would be better for them.

Obsidian made another buggy, broken game? Oh my! I never saw that coming. And what's that, it was with yet another DIFFERENT publisher, and wasn't a sequel based on someone elses software? My my my! Will wonders never cease!

Sorry to be glib, but can people stop placing the blame for Obsidian's horrible game-bortions on everyone but Obsidian now? They just aren't capable of producing a polished finished work. Accept it. They've had myriad opportunities with numerous, quality publishers backing them.
Why does a sequel to another game that several people liked being published in any way hurt you? Get off your high horse and learn that there are people out there who aren't you.

i wanted to try alpha protocol because of its unique approach but i kept hearing that they half assed everything. maybe a sequel will fix that.

Alpha Protocol had a great story (I'm a big Clancy fan), but it had a terrible combat setup and dialogue sequences were iffy. Boss fights did feel a bit forced and a bit broken (Darcy was a bullshit boss).

I loved Alpha Protocol, if they could iron out some of its flaws while keeping all the things it did right.

SIGN MY ASS UP, OBSIDIAN! They should totally go for it.

I thought Alpha Protocol was a pretty good game. There were some bugs but they were pretty minor in my opinion. I would like to see an Alpha Protocol sequel.

I would honestly like to give AP another shot. It was just a bit short in execution.

My favorite terrible moment from AP:

You break into the warehouse in Rome, and you find the baddies you expect torturing a Russian, voiced pathetically by Michael Bell (nothing like hearing Duke do a terrible Russian accent).

Comrade Michael Bell: "Nyet, Nyet, I told you everything; I don't know what happened in Moscow. There was someone there, a man, Thornton, he"
*gang of Russians in Adidas jump suits burst into the warehouse guns blazing*
Superduper Spy Mike Thornton: "Russians.. what are they doing here?"
RESCUING THE RUSSIAN WHO'S BEING TORTURED, JEEZ

Followed closely by Omen commenting casually about Thornton standing in the middle of a busy subway in full combat gear. Contrasted with every other conversation rambling about how Captain Blunt Instrument is some invisible hell hound, untraceable and ingenious beyond measure. Dreadful game on every level.

What would the point of a sequel be, to find out how many duodecuple agents they can cram into the script?

I think he meant 'what are so many russian mobsters doing in Rome', not what they were doing there specifically.

But that other bit I'll agree is stupid. It's metal gear levels of meta if his stealth armor is supposed to make him literally invisible :)

AP was a great idea, poorly executed. I think it deserves a sequel.
Well said, short and sweet. Alpha Protocol was very enjoyable, even with its flaws.

I can't bear a second playthrough though, and the plot confuses me still. A shame, because I enjoyed it.

That's very presumptuous and insulting for no reason. I never said they shouldn't make another, read my comment don't just throw insults.

I don't know why I'm so forgiving with Obsidian when it comes to the buggyness/unfinished aspects of their games...

I loved KOTOR 2, Fallout NV, and Alpha Protocol. I also bought Dungeon Siege 3... KNOWING that the game's release being pushed back will STILL include bugs.

They still get a free pass from me for some reason.

I would very much like to see another Alpha Protocol.

Not to mention those same reviewers glossing right over Oblivion and Fallout 3's metric fuck-ton of bugs, flaws, and ass stories.

It pisses me off that Bethesda gets a pass from everyone for their buggy-ass games, yet Obsidian always gets the shit torn out of them for it.
Bugs aren't the same as flawed and unpolished gameplay mechanics. Bugs can be fixed with patches, but flawed and unpolished mechanics are set in stone once the game launches. AP didn't have many bugs, but it was about as polished as an unpolished turd (That isn't polished at all).

And again, this is coming from a guy that enjoyed Alpha Protocol.
