Oh come one,the water temple wasn't that bad.Sure it was a spatial mindfuck that required trial and error and the patience of an old chinese zen master, but at least there was logic behind it.

However,I still don't forgive the guys how developped "Link's awakening"'s Turtle Rock dungeon and the stupid guess work required.
Seriously, without any hint, how is one supposed to know you have to blow up a very specific wall that has no marking at all?

Nope I loved it, the only challenging temple in the game (though that's not saying much)

I never understood people having trouble with it.

With this news, as well as the trailers for the next Wii Zelda game, I'm falling in love with the franchise again.

Twilight Princess just looked bad to me. Thankfully Miyamoto seems to have changed the art direction for the next game to something much more palatable. Must be "Learn From Your Mistakes" week over at Nintendo.

They ought to put the vocal track back into the fire temple regardless if it "offended" Muslims. It added atmosphere and is possibly the best memory I have from that game.

Don't like it? Don't play!

I never found it that bad. And I f***ing loved the Dark Link battle. I just don't like how it's fairly simple to accidentally make it unwinnable. I really don't mind it though.

the Water Temple in Mater Quest was INSANELY annoying, the regular one wasn't that bad. I had more trouble with the water temple in Majora's Mask.

Do people expect the 3DS to be out this fall?

I love the Water Temple, it's one of my favourites. This is like when they made the bosses from Metroid Prime 1 and 2 easier for the trilogy release.

Reading this makes me think that they aren't so much going to remake the Temple, but rather the interface going through the temple was bad. And I would agree, constantly going in and out of the menu to swap boots was bad design and really bogged down the game. It's a lot easier to be attentive when you're not constantly bringing up the menu.

Excellent. I get to play the game people won't shut up about and it's probably a better version. Now I must get my money ready for the 3DS.

Calumon: I don't get it, how does the 3DS work? No glasses plus Three Dee equals my head hurting!

Silly Calumon it's easy

Shit son, is it really that easy? Yesterday I would have assured you that 3D displays without the glasses where a technological impossibility. I was absolutely certain that Nintendo was bulshiten and its "3D" was merely some gimmick where if you tilted the device the game would show the scene from a different angle. Boy I've never been so happy to be wrong.

slightly more on topic I don't know what every one was complaining about the water temple for, the only real complaint I have is the boot switching, which can be solved by hotkeying.
Plus, the water temple contained the most memorable and difficult enemy encounter in the entire series. Dark Link was the only enemy who could whup my ass every time, and the fog enshrouded room you fit him in is brilliantly atmospheric. Though the actual water boss is piss easy.

Well technically you DID have a hint: Hitting every goddamn wall with your goddamn sword to hear that goddamn "ching" that doesn't sound like every other goddamn "ching" to indicate that the goddamn wall was goddamn hollow and could be goddamn blown.

Yes I was also frustrated by that level, why do you ask?

Really? for some odd reason I never quite figured out, the Water temple was INSANELY fast in Master Quest.

Seriously I think I only went to maybe 30% of the rooms before fighting Morpha. I never quite understood that, considering how challenging Master Fire Temple was...

HaHa back when I was a kid I always pretended that the water temple was my "home" in the game and as an adult link I always ran around in the blue tunic even when I didn't need to, my twin sisters home was the forest temple so she wore the green tunic all the time and my best freind had the fire temple and thus the red tunic.

The Blue tunic was easily the coolest tunic to wear, period!

Also, nostalgia time:

talk about cheesy!

and also, on topic: Water Temple speed run (not my doing)
note that he used a glitch to get to the shadow temple (and thus, Hover boots) before beating the water temple.

While the Water Temple may have been mildly annoying, the only thing about OoT that actually sucked was Navi.

I remember doing that level for the first time. It did get a little tedious but was part of the level's overall challenge. Fond memories :p

Makes sense to change it though, on touch screen that level would turn from pesky to horrific.
